I hope she wasn't lying when she said that "Blue Skies" was one of her favorites...because it's one of mine, too. Thank you for your beautiful voice, Ella.
My dad came running home with two albums that he had to play the minute he walked in the door, Ella's Live in Berlin and Dave Bruebeck's TIme Out with Carmen McRae. I remember dancing to Lionel Hampton Live Paris as a kid in the basement of our home in London Ont.
When I logon to your name I am not able to view your Channel video screen. Usually you will have a picture of some one on the screen. I just get a blank screen. Do you why that is. I loged on to another persons pc and they were able to get your channel screen.
ooh la la ! she is fantastic - thank you for adding something new and wonderful into my life. do you like chris connor? she is also relatively unknown - alas - and underrated. check out 'moonlight in vermont'.
now, for a total coincidence - my family name was van der wert. my ancestor jan vanderwert from niemwegen came to ceylon ( where i was born) with the dutch east india company in 1750. i have dutch blood on both sides of my family.
thanks for your response. dank u en de beste wensen.
Wonderful!!redemption for Cole Porter song It's all right with me .NOBODY!!In this world Today. can as an professional jazz singer be close of Mrs fitzgerald style or singing .she was the Great of the Great.Love her!!
It´s all right with me,too...Mind you, this is Ella, the pride and joy in the music field...What a way to start a program!Whenever we hear Ella doing a tune,we know that we can have wonderful surprises along the concert. The second number is a heavenly set of lighthearted songs (in a bossa nova style!),and she caresses each tune.Lovely!
