@sanivivo They are both very nice. With a standard batteries, I like the Dewalt. Just a nice feel. When you put an high capacity on the MIlwaukee, it really changes the feel of the Milwaukee and give it a much better feel and balance. In regards to power, they are about the same. Both of our models are still running. I have seen people complain about both and praise both.
With the impact I drove 3/8" x 3" lag bolts (no pre-drilled holes) into 4x4's and the damn thing felt like an 18v with power to spare.Unbelievable power for a 12v.
For projects around the house; wouldn't you be just fine with a drill only? Isn't it possible to use screw driver bits on a drill? Just trying to figure out why would I need a separate drill and screwdriver tool.
@842qwery Your correct. If your just working around the house, I would just go with the drill and forget about the screwdriver. The screwdriver is about 1.25" shorter than the drill, so you can get into tight spots with the screwdriver. It is designed more for the contractor who works in tighter spots and is primarly fastening. Maybe inside an electrical panel, attaching stuff between joist or other tight areas.
I tried all the battery in the handle units at HD & Lowes. They just felt like they were made for people with very large hands. It felt like my fingers needed to be an inch longer to feel comfortable. Ended up getting the dewalt kit. I was blown away by the quality of the exterior. If the insides are of the same quality as the outside I'll be a happy camper. Only time will tell.
i have a noob question whats the point of the clutch i always put mine on max and never move it but it has to be there for a reason can anyone tell me that reason? pls
@felixcruzazul well i use a Snap On Tools 1/4 drill to assemble interior peices at the bodyshop and i keep my clutch low so i dont overdrill and either break the interior panel or go to far and strip it.
The Impact driver and wrench are basically the same thing except for the driver has a 1//4" Hex head and the wrench has a 3/8th" hog ring anvil head. For the jobs you are doing I would not recommend an impact. I would go with the DCD710S2 it has an adjustable chuck that will allow you to use any kind of bit up to 3/8th's. It also has 2 speeds, its a great all around compact drill/driver. The Milwaukee's are good also, they are just not as light and ergonomic as the dewalt's
pretty cool,im looking into getting one, what is the difference between the screwdriver, impact wrench and impact driver and wich one would you rcomend for a guy that would be using this tool for hanging curtains, fixing a drawer, etc(small stuff around the house)i was also looking at the milwaukee m12 screwdriver, please help me out and recommend the better one(wich one would you use).thanx
How would you compare this to the milwaukee m12 screwdriver(I think its 2401-22)
