I know that he can't undo everything that he did. I hope this will stop others from drinking and driving, but in a society set up where cars and alcohol are almost constantly mixed, it's not likely. The car is the primary method of transportation in most of the United States, the only option besides not driving home are few and it's only the nature of being drunk that you make the easiest choice possible. Face it, you're a dumbass when you're drunk but if public transit was easier and more plentiful, this would be much less likely to happen.

I know that he can't undo everything that he did. But still the impact that he made because he chose to drink and then get behind the wheel of his truck is still felt by Jacquiline and the families of the kids who were lost. I hope this will stop others from drinking and driving, but in a society set up where cars and alcohol are almost constantly mixed, it's not likely. The car is the primary method of transportation in most of the United States, the only option besides not driving home are few and it's only the nature of being drunk that you make the easiest choice possible. Face it, you're a dumbass when you're drunk but if public transit was easier and more plentiful, this would be much less likely to happen.

Man, if some POS like Reginald Stephey did this to my sister, I'd find him and introduce him to a couple friends of mine: Mr. Smith & Mr. Wesson. With a bullit in his head, he would NEVER drink & drive again! What sucks is he'll probably be able to get a driver license. In America, all you need to get a license is a pulse. Lifetime DL revoctions are almost unheard of, but in most other countries, Reginald Stephey would NEVER drive again. Also, he'd have gotten a MUCH stiffer prison term!

Since then I have never forgotten the lesson I learnt other than to never drink and drive again and that was to never judge anyone again either. He is paying and will always pay for what he did. What inspires me is if that were me and I looked like that after an accident, including having my fingers amputated, I would hide away. But she shows her damage to help send the message, and she's very selfless and thoughtful for doing that. I heard that she forgave the man that did this to her.
