The best way is to keep a few thing in mind. If your opponent is going backwards you do a RT lunge, if hes coming at you do a B lunge. After a B lunge you can jump back and RT. Otherwise just stay close and spam B.

there is a another sword combo instend of useing trigger then B you could use B then trigger this doesnt allways work but it has got me a lot of kills. another combo is jump ,trigger then B

@jam900x the only combo i use is melee (RB for me cus i got bumper jumper) and creative jumpingand turning and i am the best sword fighter of my friends (they are alot higher than me im a Lieutenent Grade 2)

skills used against sword users

-start with a melee in case u clash with a lunger

-when in constant clashin with anotha melee user, u can either:

.try get 2 their syd & melee them if they dont turn fast enuf

.move bak a bit (keep the reticle red) so that they may miss their melee & u can use a lunge. change weapon if the distance grows enuf.

as with shotgun opponents, keep ur distance as far as ur reticle can go and lunge after or as the shotgun fires.

Hardly. There is a lot more to the sword than most realize. I use melee most of the time but its critical to know when to lunge as well. Timing is everything and factoring in connection lag is important. Press melee once per swing, use a high sensitivity(i use ten), use bumper jumper, footwork, taking on multiple opponents at once... Its my specialty. I did a sword challenge months ago offering a 1-month to anyone who could beat me. +80 1v1's. playing for years, I still have no equal. Invite me.

You should be ready to press B after any lunge as it can be used as a guard or block from enemy lunges. What i do if im going face to face with another swordsman who i know can be good is i press B to block his lunge and immedietly sidestep whilst keeping a lock on and deliver my own lunge. Its quicker to melee and lunge than to lunge and lunge again.

well one of my friends is a sword expert. if he sees that someone knows the "b trick" (which you would be amazed at how many people dont) he'll melee, anticipate the rt charge, melee again, and THEN charge.

it puts the melee attack on the RT so therefore you can still adjust your crosshairs without having to take your thumb/finger off the melee button

Anyway, I'd like to add in the tip that if by chance you do clash swords with the opponent, circle around them counter-clockwise until you're at a 90 degree angle, then use your melee attack.

It's much harder for them to have to turn left and line up with you and THEN hit you than it is to simply press B.

And the reason I say counter-clockwise is just because in my personal experience it's harder to turn and hit someone on the left of you than your right. Don't ask =P
