I cannot believe what I have just heard in this debate. Basically, the individual on the right is saying that climate change is probably exaggerated and a complete load of crap, but nonetheless it is the perfect tool for imposing a 'greener' world and philosophy on the rest of us - because it somehow serves a greater good. Therefore, the lie is justified because our intentions are noble and good, even though the big lie we just told wasn't itself exactly good and noble.
At what point does doing to much cause more problems? Should we build a trillion dollar earth defense system because we are afraid of being invaded by the martians? At what point does our solution cause more problems than the original problem?
I, stupid baldy, know better than you, and since we are not yet at the point where we can force you to do what we want you to, we are perfectly justified in lying through our teeth and fooling you into it. The ends justify the means. Hmmm. Who else thinks like that? I know it sounds hard to believe, but the GD Communists are back for another round, this time calling themselves progressive.
The greens actually proffered this as an argument in favor of AGW? Basically they're saying AGW is at best grossly exaggerated, but we need to scare the public into doing what we want them to do.
The brain on the right employs the time tested "jiffy-pop" debate technique. If you start getting cornered by a smarter and more informed person... BLOW UP in a thousand different directions at once and then run away claiming victory.
My 86 year old mother was stopped and searched by airport security. Cigarette smoking amoung the youth of america has increased not decreased with this so called knowledge. Drug use in the USA is at an all time high. Is the answer the government takeover of all aspects of our lives like Obama wants. Going green is a good idea but not at the point of a gun. It is simply a reason to give up our freedoms.
Also the actions they seek to cure the problem(s), For example, regulating carbon are entirely way more injurious to mankind than the supposed problem itself.
His argument is that one completely irrational and ineffective reaction to risk in one aspect of life foisted upon us by politicians through propagating fear justifies another irrational and potentially more harmful political indoctrination backed reaction in other realms of risk avoidance.

Who is the bald guy seated next to Lindzen?

The guy on the right side just repeated his own claims:
"if you cannot convince people otherwise - lie and cheat for their benefit".
This might be good for politician but should get him ostricised in scientific community.
