I have been playing IL-2 for last year or so but I still don't understand why are flaps needed at take off? Could someone please explain?

flaps are needed to give you more lift at lower speed, wich means you can take-off faster. but it isn't required.

Just after some help with the install of your sounds, I have the aaa sound mod 0.93, and carefully went through and deleted each of the 'merlin' and 'allison' engine sounds and prs files, then replaced them with yours.

When I try and load the game however it stops at 5%, is there any specific reason for this?

Any help, from anyone, would be greatly appreciated

I have a problem with your sound mod though - everything is silet after "installation". Any advice. I did delete first then istalled your files. One more thing: you considering to use "proper" mod structure, so that we could just unpack your mod under MODS folder?

try to change sound to stereo or reverse. just go to sound setup and try everything

Best sounds I have used so far. I get no doppler or echo effect whatsoever. The sounds for the first time sound like they belong there and my immersion level has increased greatly. Thank you very much for sharing this fine work with us...I greatly appreciate it.

I did a little checking of my own on your user manual. It would seem you have to install soundmod 0.93 to get to the files folder in the first place. After that do you have to replace the sounds found in that mod or....?

I found no "FILES" folder. He might be referring to C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\. There is a list of planes there, but there are no .wav files or sound files there. Look in the MODS folder for a folder called "1 Basic", there is another folder called "samples" with a long list of .wav files...Is this where these new sounds go?....Please claeify as these are great sounds and i'd like to use them........Thanx Jafa!!!!

Yes mate , all samples to samples folder , all Prs to Prs folder , Do NOT just overwritre , maualy remove the ones you are going to replce and any extra ones , then install mine , sound mod .93 and sfx , sound mods from AAA , are good , cus they include buttons for the packard merlin , only , Sfx range from sg2wasy offers the Griffin , as far as I can remember...Jafa.

For thoes of you who've bin testing these sounds for me , this is an updated package , the direct link is in the info section , and thanks very much for your help.

To everyone else , sorry for the long delay , as well as the new additions , ive bin workin hard to improve engine sounds such as the merlin.ect.

For newbies....You must have a sound mod package installed in your game before you can download and install mine , the best place to get this is from "all aircraft arcade".
