Possibly, although in one of the DICE interviews they say the maps are different in each game mode.

I personally get tired of maps easily, especially if they're small and linear like COD/CS. But amazingly many still love decade old levels like de_dust.

Hopefully the open layout, dynamic objects and destruction gives the BC2 maps more life.

it is much harder to show up on radar. i believe the enemy has to be looking at you and hit a button (back maybe?) to tag you, so that you don't get tagged randomly when you get hit by spray.

c4 is only a problem if the enemy gets close, and radar designators were easy to dodge if you got the timing right. BC1 was balanced, i though.

I think it depends on the time. Like BF2 was massive on PC when it came out but that was before COD4. On consoles Bad Company and 1943 were pretty huge but could of been outsold by MW2 recently.

Right now I would consider BF the underdog, but that's not forgetting that Battlefield is a well known franchise under EA's funding and marketing.

It was always inevitable that millions would compare COD to BF. They're both high profile competing franchises. Obviously they have significant differences (size of the maps, vehicles, gamemodes etc.) but they also have similarities.

I think it's a good thing for BC2 as the look and feel of the infantry gameplay is as fluid/if not more fluid than COD. So now it can fulfill that element whilst accommodating big environments, vehicles, destruction etc.

Yeah COD4 is overall a ridiculously spammy arcade game. Particularly as the maps are far too small for the max amount of players and those cheap annoying aimbot helicopters.

I meant that BC2 has some of the better infantry features from COD4 that BF2/2142 don't have. Things like being able to knife someone quickly with one key press.

Actually, not excatly. You got 4 kits: medic, reacon (sniper), assasult and engineer. The key is, that you unlock weapons and specializations for them which at least makes hundrets of combinations. But there are 4 kits. So you don't see an anti-tank (engineer holds rpg) or spec-ops.
