  • What a bunch of leftie tossers. get in the real world

  • Comment removed

  • I take it that this is a new definition of Victory that we are not aware of, were non of workers who were detained were released, and that the UKBA didn't even give a tinkers cuss about what you did?

In the end actions and words with out psychical results are worthless.

  • @Robin303 Except the students were aware that an occupation of the college offices was unlikely to result in UKBA and the British government suddenly changing policy. The demands were that they made of their university were all met and management will not cooperate with any more racist raids on college campus. That's a victory, what would you prefer? Maybe writing a letter to their MPs or making smart arse comments on youtube videos?

  • @adycousins The college is legally required to corporate with the UKBA and if they refusal to corporate with the UKBA, other wise the UKBA would be well with in there rights to suspend the license, and the money the government would save would be tempting. These are hard times and the public are asking which poor should they care for British poor or Immigrant poor as the way the papers are talking there maybe a reckoning.

Also how is an Immigration raid racist?

  • @Robin303 "how is an Immigration raid racist?" because immigration laws are racist - they identify those from other nations as "problematic" even though they are vital to the functioning of the UK economy and because they detained all workers irrespective of whether they were "legal" or not - so those that were legal had their rights infringed because of their country of origin.

You asked in what sense it was a victory yet actually you're glad that they were deported

  • @adycousins What your confusing is a legal issue and an emotional issue, those people who were detained and deported were with out legal permission to work or stay in the UK.

You did not respond to my question about the public asking who were more important to them indigenous poor or immigrant poor.

It was in no sense a victory no one was realised and SOAS didn't agree to bar entry to the UKBA staff.

The workers will not follow the Left as it stands.

  • @Robin303 You haven't watched the video. Management agreed to acknowledge the UCU policy - which is not to cooperate with immigration raids. Not all the workers detained were "illegal". Some of the public may be asking whether "indigenous" poor are more important than "immigrant" poor but most are asking whether funding the excessive bonus lifestyles of bankers is more important than helping the rest of society. You support deportations, therefore the outcome is irrelevant to you.

  • @adycousins The management of SOAS has not publicly told the UKBA that have they, also you are only talking for the middle class not the working class for course all are not happy about the bankers and the rich, but this was seen back in the 1960's when it was said the the "Rich will one day want your TV back" for the working class are more concerned about getting through the day.

You just don't see the opportunity do you?

  • @Robin303 How am I talking for the middle class? Thats a bigoted anti-working class assumption that we are only concerned about "about getting through the day." This is rubbish, the workers movement has done ten times more for the rights of immigrants than any concerned middle class - that's because we realise that the as long as anger is deflected onto other poor people from other countries it is not directed at the real villans.

  • @adycousins Bigoted Ant-working class assumption well that's a bigoted assumption from yourself, workers rights have always been oppressed by the upper and middle class, the use of cheap imported workers has been a tactic use to oppress the workers since the the start of the industrial revision. also workers movements get high jacked by the middles class and perverted to there own self pitying actions.

  • @Robin303 So lets get this right, you support the deportation of poor immigrant workers because you think its somehow a blow for workers rights and imply that opposition to deporting immigrants is a middle class preoccupation. Its just plain old anti-immigrant rhetoric - the person here that's counterposing immigrant rights to workers rights is you - ie you accept the logic used to divide people along ethnic lines - immigrant workers don't lower wages, employers do that

  • @adycousins You lost the argument when you called me bigoted, to result to insults is an admisstion of failer in ones argument, these people broke the law, becose that law contradict you believe, that law is wrong and all other view are heresy to that belief and must be crushed without reason.

Lets part on view that we both have views that in places meet and in others don't,

Immigration is one of them lets hope Enoch will never be right.

P.S I am very Working class.

  • @Robin303 how can you be "very working class?" I don't see any area in which we agree. You think immigrants should be deported and are the cause of low pay, I argued against you using rational arguments and you responded that by implying that any concern with immigrants is "middle class". You simply don't have an argument other than deportation of illegal immigrants is justified because their presence is illegal. Ie the law is right because its the law not because it equals justice or fairness.

  • @adycousins You do not know me and you know nothing of my back ground, for all we know there are points we may agree on, and to make any pre-judgement on a person is a self invalidating act and only reflects badly on yourself.

On the SOAS question what was the barrier that stopped them from being legal workers, did they follow all the correct routes to get permission to work?

You do know this is a very pointless argument.

  • @Robin303 "You do know this is a very pointless argument. " Not if it means that in future you'll think twice before making negative smart arse attacks on people standing up for migrant rights and against injustice

  • @adycousins In that statements you have acted much like a religious zealot dose when dogma is challenged, you failed consistency to answer my questions, and only reasoned with personal attacks.

Lets leave this here it dose not do you any good.

  • @Robin303 Please do. The exchange speaks for itself - you don't like being challenged and resort to silly baseless claims about dogma and heresy when you are challenged

  • @adycousins You really are hurt that I disagreed with you.

You should take a look at the report by the Commune on the protest very even handed. It dose point out that SOAS didn't agree to the bar on UKBA staff and that what the students agreed to was more a hurried demand from the management.

This does seem to be repeated in other pages on the net.

    Good bye.

  • @Robin303 I'm not confusing emotional with legal. Its a political issue. Immigration laws and deportations do nothing except ensure that a large number of otherwise hard working and law abiding citizens live their lives in poverty and fear, prey to scumbag employers who are happy to make profit off them but call in the UKBA as soon as those workers try to organise in a union. This keeps wages low for all workers and only serves the managers and shareholders of big companies

  • I never heard any more about this. What became of the nine who were detained? Were they working here illegally or not?

  • Top Bananna! x 2

  • Top Bananna

  • i felt this would have gone on longer, very strong response is the reason this dispute was ended.

    good campaign guys.

  • They are still going back. But Head Teach has got you out of his office. Wily old man ;0) hahaha
