I do consider my self somewhat professional, that's not the point. The point is Ken Kesey was a rat bag. He doesn't deserve anything in the way of honers, for he was a sleaze. I get annoyed every time I see that dang sculpture.
There is a lot people don't know about Ken Kesey. When he spoke in area high schools he taught the students to rebel, smoke marijuana and various other destructive behaviors. He may have written a few books under intoxicants, but as a moral pillar of the community he fails miserably.
Kesey was always very was clear on advocating an appropriate time and place for certain drugs for people who need it, and never condoned heroin or cocaine. He attributed Cuckoo's Nest to his LSD & other psychadelic experimentations. There is no questionable behavior Kesey did that he wasn't open & honest about. open minded beautiful people.
If his statue annoys you, you should leave Oregon and go back to Utah along with your LDS buddies where they really sell absolute lies and construct idolatrous statues of people like Joseph Smith or Brigham Young, whose legacy is far worse than anything Ken Kesey Family ever did. Mormons are a Nazi cult. Psychadelic artists and organic farmers here are original beautiful loving people.

Kesey is not a saint, but he was a good man at heart, not a bunch of assholes like Joseph Smith and Brigham Young or Gordon Hinckley or Warren Jeffs or Oral Hatch.
For the record Warren Jeffs is a leader of a DIFFERENT church. It would be like linking the Pentecostals with Catlicks.
