@londonas2 haha, the fact that i put a smiley clearly meant my comment was tongue in cheek. But, if it had half decent tyres then the chance of aquaplaning would have been minimal. These cars are rock solid even on very wet roads. I'm not saying it was a good idea, it was a tad careless, but seems everything ended up well so the "zomg child killer" squad can go troll another vid.
all thrill until you hydroplane off the road and roll your car. Possibly ram into a car with a family in it. It only takes about 70 km/h to start hydroplaning.
Actually it was my 82-year old grandfather who was driving his car to the mall. There was a sale on dental glue ... nothing to blame him for, realy ... he just wanted to be there in time before all was sold out.
He's doing some pretty good driving none the less...
Haha, rain my ass. I have a S6 5.2 and drive like this all the time, thanks to quattro you hardly even notice wet or dry. If it were an M3 then it would be an "accident waiting to happen" as some have pointed out. Gotta love Audi :)
@cptboy111 How is 4WD helping you break, take turns? I'm really shocked how many Americans think that 4WD == 2x 2WD ... yeah you can get up steeper hill when it's snowing, but guess, you need to break and centripetal force is the same for 4WD and 2WD, hence you both will spin out.
@goguhu no my friend... watch this video watch?NR=1&v=NDcnqlSxg-4 and you will understand what happens to the weels and the 4WD can help you take turns... watch in 1:25 what happenes
@FgsSpyros If you have a car with 'perfect' weight/grip distribution, you will end up using all your traction in the turn fighting the centripetal forces, and hence there are no more traction to be had for accelerating OR breaking. Now, if the car does not have a 50/50, you can gain a bit by 4WD as you typically end up having 'spare' traction on the front.
@goguhu So basically if you have 'spare' longitudinal traction on your front wheels, 4wd would be helpful, but if you spend it all on lateral acceleration, you cannot apply more longitudinal forces on the wheels without loosing traction. At entry to a turn, you burn it all on breaking, then then on lateral, at exit (depending on the turn), you do have some advantage with 4wd as you will turn in a outward spiral, freeing up some lateral traction on the vehicle.
Typically a 4WD carries extra weight vs RWD, and hence some/most/all of that exit benefit is lost at less traction at the turn during the constant ratio part of it, and in the case of Audi they also have more weight on the front reducing this benefit even further. Take a look at M3 E92 vs RS5 on Top Gear on wet track (on dry track they are pretty much dead even, but on wet the M3 won).
Alright guys, accidents happen all time. Don't act like a pussy and appreciate such cars to be driven fast. Don't be a gay to buy an expensive car and keep it in your garage or drive like an asshole.
is it still fucking cool, when this Asshole RS5 Driver makes an accident, and kill other Drivers on the Road? He should do that on a closed Racetrack. he is still a douchebag cocksucker
@JeasonF i dont think you realise but he crashed shortly afterwards. there's a picture of this RS5 on wrecked exotics and the caption said he was overtaking on wet roads at dangerous speed. his wife was killed.....not so cool now is it.?
@metalfreaxxx Quattro wont keep you from hydroplaning. (I don't mean to be a dick, well actually I do) If you think it will stop it from hydroplaning, Im sorry sir, but you, are a fucking idiot...
@lazsniper13 i guess yo didn't read my last post..i was being sarcastic with you. If you adjust conditions until aquaplaning happens thats you being a little bitch.
The conditions on the video are not so bad so i's true that Germans didn't get sarcasm..lol
