  • This is the most beautiful miniature carousel I have ever seen! It is so realistic. Did you create the animals. The horses look like mini replicas of Looff and MC Illions horses. The music is wonderful! Great job!

  • OMG I want it :)

  • 5 stars :)

  • love it!

  • american carousels normally dont have a british gavioli, Normaly a stinson or wurliTzer British gallopers have gaviolis, Gaviolis are the best!

  • Whats the first thing I when i make my minature carousel? I Already carved horses.

  • You know what would be a cool little business? Build & sell miniature band organs like the one here (or in different styles, like WurliTzers, Bruders, etc.), but, have an audio jack so that one could play songs from an Mp3 Player on it.

I would buy one of a WurliTzer 153, for sure!

  • I believe there is actually a type of 'Modern' Organ capable of this.. I'll have a look and get back to you if i find it again.. ;-)

  • I was think of speakers embedded into a miniature band organ, rather than a Midi Organ like you seem to be describing.

  • I have seen a MIDI organ of this size that plays on the real organ, but i have also seen a 'gimmicky' carousel (miniature) that has a audio in socket and contains small speakers. Loads of big size carousels use speakers instead of an actual organ but if you wanted to play and MP3 through a real organ, you would need some crazy converting software :-)

  • Not a *real* miniature organ, speakers with a case that makes it look like an organ, so you can play music through it.

  • Yes, i've seen many of those. Many large (full size) modern organs use this teqnique so that maintainance is reduced and more musical option was available.

  • No, I mean basically an iHome type device that looks like a band organ.

  • I Wish that too. I can never find one for sale.

  • Like many people, I've also watched this several times, and wow! It really does pass for a real carousel. The animals are beautifully sculpted and it really does look like something someone could ride on. By the way, are the horses hand carved out of wood?

  • What a beautiful and amazing model! I can't imagine the work you are putting into building it yourself. Thank you for sharing this amazing video. I love this stunning carousel and the fantastic organ!

  • Thank you for your kind comments, glad you like my model. I am hoping to get the lighting completed soon so will post another vid once it is finished.

    Kind regards

    Glenn

  • Are you replying to magicquartz? if you not how did you get to the bottom of the comments page?

  • @harbottle99 Whats the trumpet noise? at 0:00 the tooting noise?

  • I have watched this video many times since January 2007. I do like the scale model fairground organ. At first I thought that it was a real carousel, not a model. I was fooled. What kind of organ is the model supposed to represent. I am a fan of fairground organs, particularly Gavioli organs.

  • Thank you for your kind comments. The organ model is loosely based on two 87 Key Gavioli organs and an 89 key Gavioli organ. I have included features of all three as it were. I have still got the lighting to do so the model isn't quite finished yet.

  • @harbottle99 How did u get the Toot noise? is it real? I saw a steam engine for sale at my local hobby shop.

  • The organ model has 256 miniature pipes and the speakers are hidden below the pipes in the case work. The particular recording heard on this video is actually the famous Hooghuys organ formerly owned by the Becquart family.

  • @alterman156 I love it!

  • Wow, that's a fantastic model! And music by my favourite organ!

  • Thank you very much for your kind comments. It's my favourite organ too...Hooghuys. Alas, I believe it is in a very run down condition now. I hope to get the lighting completed soon and will post a new video on youtube then.

  • The Hooghuys is indeed in horrible condition now. Do you have the CD recordings of the organ?

    Once again, a fantastic model!!!

  • Thank you. Yes I do have the recording of the Hooghuys in it's hey day. I've transferred it to CD, I'll gladly send you a copy if you'd like one.

    Glenn

  • Not necessary, thanks, I have all the records here. I was referring to later recordings, made by François Kopp, who still owns the organ. See also my website: hooghuys dot com, where you can find some more music in the Downloads-section.

  • Thank you very much for that. I'll visit the site and listen to the downloads. Why has Mr Kopp allowed the organ to deteriorate so badly? Such a shame.

  • That's a good question ... It's the same with the three Hooghuys organs in the Rorive showmen family ... I guess it's all about the money now?!

  • Thank you Stephen, I did wonder if you thought it was a full size organ. I am very flattered that you thought the organ and ride thus, coming from a professional like yourself it is indeed high praise. Thank you.

  • It's a shame that this is not actually the organ playing, but a recording of a Hooghuys organ from a well-known LP record..

  • I'm afraid building a one and a half inch to the foot model of a fairground organ that actually plays is beyond me! and I'm not sure even if you could build pipes that small that worked it would sound right! So I will have to make do with playing recorded fair organ music through speakers hidden below the pipe work. Sorry.

  • Thus you receive my congratulations as I was unaware this was a model!

  • i havent heard this for over 30 years. this music used to be played at my local cinema for the ABC minors saturday morning show. ahh such fun. we'd all sing along to this tune to the words 'we're all pals together, we are the minors of the ABC'! great post-thanks

  • Thanks for the posting, I used to go to the ABC minors at the Trocadero cinema in Leicester (long burned down now after being turned into a bingo hall) Happy days! Blaze Away has always been a favourite on the fairground organs...great riding piece.

  • Blaze away rocks

    !

  • Many thanks Aaron...glad you liked it.

    Glenn

  • Thanks for the comment and viewing my vid. Yes, it's a lively tune isn't it! lol
