May 2011: “A TRAGIC LOST OF HISTORY AT FORT ORD, CALIFORNIA”
Memorial Day the WW2 U.S. Army horse artillery, cavalry stables along with their blacksmith shops were demolished on the California State University at Monterey Bay Campus, California. Leaving only the Fort Ord Station Veterinary Horse Hospital the only buildings remaining to testify of the memory of the “Fort Ord Horse Soldiers”. University calls it deconstruction.
At least the University has preserved in this video a wonderful shot of the buildings on the south end of the old main garrsion motor park area.
