  • I have an HP printer which installed with no problems on Windows Xp and Windows 7 but had no luck installing on a mac

  • @adamrudedog your case is exceedingly rare.

  • You dont know anything about computers.. huh? Mr. classic view control panel, and mac user.

  • I have the complete opposite problem. Can't connect printer to mac, or don't know how.

  • The douchebaggery oozing from you is stunning. I love how you don't even look through the list of network printers and then on top of that, hide the IP addresses on your LAN, like they'd be of use to anyone watching this video.

You're just another pompus Mac fuck making things look harder than they are.

  • Regarding installing drivers...on the PC the printer is connected to, you should have installed Additional Drivers under Printer | Sharing. Then when installing the printer on the workstations, the drivers are automatically downloaded to that work station. That doesn't address the problem of not being able to find the printer in the first place, though. Aren't computer's fun?

  • When's the last time someone has ever gone to control panel to install anything?

Your computer skills are primitive at most, obviously.

  • another mac pissed off cry baby

its cute how u played music on the mac segment but not pc... lmfao

the fact that you called the IT guy you completely discredits your retarded ass

  • 0:35 how can you browse for it on the network? I don't have this window

  • Yeah, today, I had to connect a network printer (USB on a Mac) to another Mac and to a PC. The PC took me about 30 minutes to connect. The Mac, well... 2 hours later, it still couldn't see any of the printers (2) on the other Mac.

Yes. The PC had an easier time networking to a Mac than another Mac did.

  • hehehe.... i used windows for 15 years and still havin prob w installing network printer.... bought a mac 2 weeks ago and it was so simple. oh man...

    mac ...lovin it

  • You can share a non network printer between windows machines, but on mac you can't find that printer, i've tryed. Mac's overuse of making it easyer also makes certain thinks impossible.

  • @smil8888 yeh, try uninstalling programmes on mac for the first time :p

  • i would so get a mac seen as though they are better then pc, but c'mon not everyone can afford one!

  • the babies her all come out and cry when ever a new mac vs. pc video comes out. guess what? they both are very good in their own way. none better than the other. mac gets no viruses, but no games. pc larger variety in programs, mac offers higher rate of stability on programs that do exist. both win and lose... i own both and love both!

  • If u love mac so much try plaing a game :p

  • I run both mac and windows and I must say that I enjoy mac more, but I hate it when people try and make it seem like windows is useless. Mac has its problems too! I have 2 network printers that I have set up on mac, windows XP, and windows 7 with no problems at all.

  • this video is fake and gay. like most macs and mac users.

Lolz Windows XP Media Center Ed. Dumbass

  • Ive set up a printer on a network in vista no problems at all

  • wahh i cant figure out how to configure something easy.

  • lol newb

  • its tops =]

  • haha....it is quicker however if you know the computer that its shared on and type \\[server name] into run and double click on the printer icon. but yes mac is soo much easier!

  • Typical...

  • wtf? i have mac and its nearly impossible to install a network printer!? There's no such thing as bonjour printers when i look? Do you have to install something?

  • My roommate has a Mac-book down stairs so i should just be able to do that and my HP Printer will work ? Btw its going through a wireless router (connected Via cat5) which the router is only PHYSICALLY connected to the internet (everything else is wireless)

  • ha ha ha stupid windows.

  • Great how to, very professional. 2 Thumbs up

  • install Java from SUN on your printer and u will be open to the world.

  • lol omg, may i please ask sir, was the particular printer you were trying to install connected through a mac or a pc or itself? because being an owner of several macs and pcs, i find it far more difficult to install a windows network printer on a mac than it is the reverse. But of course it will be much easier installing a networked printer from a computer running the same operating system.

  • It just goes to show how crap Windows is.

  • well intentioned video and fairly funny but you went over board on the pc.I configure network printers for a living and it is really not so difficult.

  • You didn't show how the printer was actually installed to the network i.e. getting IP address, routers etc. You should show that.

  • hp sucks mac rules

  • Never had any of these problems when I install a network printer. It's pretty much the same as with the mac.

  • @TheMastahC perhaps if you have a cooperativer printer, this is true. hp has notoriously awful driver support, and both he and i are using an hp.

  • If you had any clues about how networking and Windows work, you would have known that:

    1. Properly configured and shared printer will automatically show up in the menu just like you saw on your beloved Mac.

    2. You can expand workstations or servers in the list when you search for a printer and see the printer that you are looking for.

    3. And your usage of the control panel with simple view instead of the classic view blew away your credibility.

  • @localfun500 True dat! Go PCs!

  • i think we get the picture, without the sound effects and laughter. but yea in most cases macs a lot easier.. but you can get problems in mac too. i use linux though

  • hilarious

  • I love my Mac .. but believe me .. printer configuration sux on Macs and PCs. It is a shame, that printers act in general strange and you need luck to configure them fast.

    :-(

  • Uh I had to do the same thing you did with the Mac (get a printer on a network) and belive me I was a paine in the ass

  • lol....windblows strikes again...

  • Windows is all teh suk. It just is.

  • In my experience, any time you want to reach a network printer that is not installed on your office PC then you will end up calling in the IT guys. Unless you have a lot of time to waste, don't even bother trying to do this yourself.

  • that is ballshit tbh i have had like 3 printers and they have all been easy to install. the only reason i ave had to have 3 is coz the printers themself fuck up.

  • You need to reinstall the driver for your Windows keyboard, you can't type in upper case it appears.
