Could very well be, i wasnt very impressed with that motor and after a while due to the previous owner's work (this was bought used) the motor soldering tab was broken. That motor was then rendered pretty much useless unfortunately, i didnt even have time to try new brushes on it.
your idler gear is worn buddy get that fixed is has sand or missing teeth
