Not only did you save the life of the turtle, you might have saved the life of someone coming around the bend who hit it and crashed.

As for anyone who says you shouldn't have run out in the road, I'm sure you would have heard the engine of an approaching bike in time to get out of the way. I think you did the right thing. :-)

Saw a guy hit the edge of a turtle on Hwy28south last week between Franklin and Bryson City, the guy wobbled a bit but held it up rubber side down. Scared me though, thought he would crash and I'd hit him in the process.
