God allows pain and suffering because it is only through that that he can bring out of you what he put in you. Ex. You can't grow muscles without pain, can you? Without pain, there isn't any new life. Every woman, when giving birth, had to go through pain in order for her new life to come into existence. Without pain, there is no progress.

Allah is not the author of confusion. God didn't send the people Christianity nor Judism, he sent them Islam which only means complete submission to his will.
