Well-said. Our society is a pyramid, with the bottom layers propping up the layers above them. Fact.
The system is designed so that most at the bottom will always stay there, and vice versa. Also fact.
Adam is cute and naive, but his thought is frivolous and shallow and he has just given ammo to the Lamborghini libertarians. Anyone who gives the rich more ammo whilst giving the privileged classes a good excuse to feel contempt for their victims has just made the world a little bit worse.
@Humanimalist It's more than just what you said. Adam is a shill. Nobody wants to be out work and living under a bridge. People like Adam are making it seem that way. Unemployment benefits don't even last a half a year. And people cannot purchase homes, cars, and expensive vacations on unemployment. You basically have to live without air condition, electricity, and health care in order to keep your house. You have to ride your bicycle to the library. So you can mail off your resumes to HR.
@Humanimalist Yeah, he's horrible for even suggesting a person can invent a computer company and become a giant multi-media industry or even invent a software system that eventually appears on 95% of all computers in the US. That's obsurd.
Who's ever believe a man could invent a mode of production or a candy nobody liked and, after multiple failures, have mega-corporations named after them.
Then there that poor abondoned kid who grows up to be president... a fantasy. Can't happen.
I am delighted to learn that the American Dream is still available to english-speaking, middle-class, COLLEGE EDUCATED WHITE boys who go slumming. This boy is sick, stupid and lacking emotional and economic depth. How many women worked at those construction and furniture-moving jobs? When you hurt your back on those jobs, that $5K you saved the first year is wiped-out. While your back is mending, you will not be paid, and medical bills will pile up since those jobs don't offer health insurance.

@mjosied Yeah, I agre. As an "english-speaking, middle-class, COLLEGE EDUCATED WHITE boy" who actually lost his job and had to do this for real, I kept getting fired for being too good at my job. The unions hated me for working hard. The various day labor jobs often kicked me out for setting up a better work flow in their businesses.
It's really tough if you can't be oppressed and can think for yourself and innovate.
