  • Thank you for this video!

Next time I get mad at my knitting I'm just going to say, "Come on, little fella!"

  • I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks! Excellent video. I've been knitting (not constantly) for 50+ years and have learned something new today. Thanks

  • This seems to be a popular video for the Endpaper mitts, and now I see why..after watching other videos I was thinking "wha....?" and after this one, it seems so awesome and fun to do! I have started my mitts with no problems whatsoever. Thanks!

  • Oh, I wish I had watched your video before I started this project! I did the cast-on correctly, but then I went right into 1x1 ribbing instead of doing the two setup rows.

  • Thank you for sharing, it makes perfect sense now and I am excited to try something new.

  • I have watched Italian cast on videos from several people, and this is by far, the easiest to understand...Thank you!

  • Thank you! This is a great tutorial. So many either go to fast of over instruct. This is very clear and now I can carry on with my project!

  • I don't even own straight needles, and use only circular needles. I love this cast on as I do tons of charity work and making baby sweaters is one of my main projects. Since I tend to knit in the round I'm trying to figure if this cast on can be worked in the round for example cuffs (done by loop knitting). I have been playing around with your cast on and just can't seem to do it. Do you have any ideas?

  • @lori1551 Did you ever figure out how to do this in the round? I've not tried it yet, but since I knit a lot in the round, it would be nice to know if it works.

  • @CatePowers101

I don't know if it can be done, I tried a few times and found it too complicated. I only use the following cast on method when doing ribbing. "Very Stretchy Cast-on for Double and Single Ribbing by Tillybuddy" This video can be found on You Tube as well. It is very easy and quick to do and I love the results. Can be used for both straight knitting and circular (loop) knitting. Hope that helps you.

  • Thank you! Finally a clear and easy way to cast on Italian style... Well done!

  • KnitNpink: Tubular cast-ons are traditionally done with 1x1 ribbing. That doesn't mean, though, that you can't experiment and see if you like the look of it with a 2x2 rib. Do a test swatch, and see what you think.

  • What if you want to do another ribbing? 2x2, whatever? How do you do it then?

  • Much easier method to my fav caston than what I've been using.... awesome thanks. Kat

  • I always thought I hated this cast on until I saw your video. Now it's my favorite! Thank you so much!

  • LOL I came to this video because of the endpaper mitts too! I like this better than the other italian tubular cast on tutorials in which only one hand holds the yarn because its easier to keep track of which stitch you're on. With the other method I keep losing track of which side to go under, thumb or forefinger...

  • Purpleinkling, I have/had the same problem about those endpaper mitts. I tried a regular cuff, but it just looked awful.

Then, I tried EJ's video, which left me clueless.

This is the best tubular cast on video I've found.

  • Thank you SO MUCH! This video is much easier to understand than the Eunny knits tubular vid.

    Very good teaching!

  • Thank you so much!

I've been wanting to make Eunny Jang's Endpaper Mitts, but didn't know the cast on (which kind of kills the entire project, no?); now I can make them!

  • Thanks for this it made it alot clearer for me as I was clueless before lol!
