Its interesting seeing so many people going to school to be a Pharmacy Tech. Ive been working as a tech for 4 years now and never went to school for the cert. Plus (at least in the state of Michigan) you dont need to be certified, though it helps. But its really a great job and the experience is phenomenal you just need good communication skills, and have to realize that its a high stress job and you need to be very patient and considerate.
could i go to everst at the same time as im going to another school? im in st.pete FL, everest kept sending me notices and phone calls because i did give them a call out of interest but i keep pushing it off to respond because i dont wanna waste my time but i wouldnt wanna go to school for 4-5 years just so i can make 50,000 a year if i could go to a school for 6 months and get the same job
Can anyone please tell me what the minimum age is to work as a Pharmacy Tech? I live in Florida and I'll be 16 soon. I'm getting mixed answers. Some people say 16 and others say 18.
OK All you prospective Pharmacy Technicians. I currently am a licensed technician in the state of California. I make about $22/hr (a little more than $47,000 is what I grossed for 2010). I was a certified tech in Colorado before moving out to California. I have worked 5 years retail and the rest of my 20 year career in hospital which I enjoy more than retail. My advice to all of you is this. I enjoy being a tech but do not just remain a tech-go onto Pharmacy school if possible!
yeah looking at this yall think being a tech is just that put in scripts count pills pass bucket to the left........what about the insurance probs u are going to have, the little old ladies who fuss at u because there asprin is not ready ( the same asprin thats on the shelf mind you) when folks want there med in 2 seconds when they come like 50th in line!!!!! uggh everest show ALL aspects of pharmacy tech life thanks ms.CPHT
@1msprissy These videos cover examples of training you can expect to receive at an Everest campus, not the experience of pharmacy technicians in the workplace.
@1msprissy Yeah im training right now through my job and the insurance is a bitch when it becomes a problem especially when it comes to the clearance and coverage issues.

Is the CPHT title nationwide or does it only apply to the state you took the test?
