They make money by charging you as much as they can over the "par rate", which is the rate the direct lenders offer to provide a loan. I like how she equates a broker to an accountant or attorney. Brokers only responsibility is to write loans and make money.
Your statements are not true. You are probably one of those non-professionals who have a low credit score and blame other people for you problems. Claiming all brokers are bad is a lie.

Comparing a mortgage broker to an attorney is false and deceptive.
A mortgage broker does NOT have fiduciary responsibilities to the consumer.
