i just went to the grand canyon last week, and i don't know what kind of psycho would go on that skywalk, let alone sit on the rim of the canyon like those people are! but, hey, whatever works for them.. :P

I think the Skywalk is a great idea. It allows you to get a whole different perspective on the canyon. And, for fucks sake people, the Grand Canyon is like 300 miles long. If you think that the Skywalk is an eyesore, drive until you can't see it, and find a different place to sing Desperado to yourself.
Reminds me of the first Europeans/Whites' eyes/spirits/peeps--when they found the giant sequoias in california @late 1800's---THEY CUT MANY DOWN TO SHOW THE WORLD THEY EXIST!!! Whereas for eons, beyond tens of thousands of years, the native peeps felt the vibration to the trees, the soil, the air, all living entities, not just respected all this, but recognized that its all just a web--the whole thing, and that means us too--whatever you do to destroy it, destroys us.

All I see are a group of people invaded by strangers who may drive them away. This makes no sense at all. If they reallllllly wanted to help those people, then why not create direct revenue to them somehow. What a bunch of crap this is.

No, the skywalk is owned by grand canyon resort corp, which is owned by th Hualapai tribe, hence direct revenue. The skywalk is on tribal land, Grand Canyon west is CGRC also, so the monies from the resort go to the tribe as well...

I read that it was going to cost $25.00 to get on the thing so that's a challenge. I recall when the Mackinac Bridge in Michigan was first opened, toll was $3.50 a car and it didn't get much use but when the fare was lowered to $1.50, that did the trick. Maybe the people running this skywalk should consider a more reasonable fee.
It would have been way cooler for the whole bridge, including the floor to be made out of reinforced glass, kinda like the floor in the CN Tower up in...um...Toronto, is it?
