@CuzWereSpecial In my opinion, if you can get to play one of the 2D metroid games, you should start with one of them so you can see what they are all about. If you wish to start with the 3D games, metroid prime (1) is your game. But the 3D ones are going to be kind of hard to understand if you do not know the basic mechanics.

Out of my person Prefrence, the wii is just a console that feels out-of-place from all the other modern consoles, the graphics are inferior to PC's and to the XBOX-360 and PS3, you get more money out of those consoles because you can get a dvd player/blu-ray, and pc's are the best because you cant have anything online without them... Torrents and stuff and patches to games.... The Wii isn't bad its just not the right time in technology to be in style... The n64 and SNES were forever the best....

ANYWAY... Compare this to some of the ads for Super Metroid - they were so much more gripping back then.
Games using "classic controller" setups like platformers, adventure games, third person shooters, etc = 360 controller
Personally, the 360 controller is my favorite "standard" controller (you know, face buttons, trigger buttons, analog sticks, etc). It's only problem is the D-pad, which thankfully isn't used intensively.
I just don't like the analog stick setup on the dual shock controllers for the PS consoles. The 360 set up feels much more natural.
But the best Is the Game. Metroid Come out in 1986. Today The game looks like other shooter like pc games or xbox games. Wrong . Metroid is a galactic Zelda and are So much better than Hipe games

I fail to see how having two crappy controllers really makes much difference. You still have no real precision. I will admit that the Wii is a step up on bullshit like the Xbox, but it still fails pretty hard.
My knowledge of Gaming Consoles, lingo and "general opinion on anything" aren't really even relevant, since all we're talking about is consoles having shit controllers.
If it comes to precision, nothing snipes like a computer mouse. The keyboard can give you plenty of options, but most of the buttons are unpressable while using the arrow keys and shooting at the same time. But when it comes to downright realism, the Wii-Mote + Nunchuck takes the cake.
They may be more 'realistic' but then I wasn't arguing against that. I was only talking about the practicality of console controllers versus Keyboard/Mouse.
Besides which, I find it really easy to press nearly any key on my keyboard even while I'm using WASD. I don't know why any game would limit your controls to be set up as arrow keys because it's a frankly stupid place to have the movement keys. WASD works way better.
I do agree with you that the mouse/keyboard setup is better than any console controller. But I'd never agree with your opinion of Prime 3 controls as 'shitty'.... because they just aren't.

You know, the reason why MP3 didn't sell as well as anticipated was probably becuse of advertising. I mean Halo 3 got inside looks at the development, posters, massive advertising, and its own soda. with MP3, Nintendo was the equivalent of "hey we have a game...so... yeah." I mean even the commercial sells the Wii more than the game itself. Now don't get me wrong, I love Metroid, and only used Halo because it's one of the biggest selling games of all time.
Metroid is also more of a "cult sensation" game with a strong following, but it's not mainstream like Halo. This generation of gamers were probably too young to have played Super Metroid even, and the Prime series was aimed at the "hardcore" crowd, who grew up with the series. The closest Nintendo got to actual marketing was its "Month of Metroid" campaign, and that was only accessible to people who already had a Wii.
Wii has a lot of potential, but right now there isn't a good library of games. This, Super Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros, and a few others are really good. Very little 3rd party games are good though.

But in Metroid Prime 3, we finally become a character. I like to play Metroid and when I tried Corruption for the first time, I was in the game, saying nothing but playing only. In Halo, I'm not like in Metroid, using weapons to go straight. In Metroid, I must find power-ups, but I must go back to become more powerful and at the end, we can die.

And since we're talking PS3, FF13, is available on 360; and racing games in general are bland and generic; you can find them on any system. that means, of the list you provided, 3 are actually valid reasons to buy a PS3.
the motions controls in this game were decent i have to admit, but still felt lacking given what nintendo promised for the wiimote. i'm disappointed retro isn't making another prime, but i sure as hell want someone to make another metroid for wii--i even wouldn't mind an uber-polished 2d sidescroller a la four swords for gamecube. nintendo really does set the standard for games, and it's a shame like 1Sc1993 posted that metroid doesn't get more of that attention.
I really wish this game sold more. Metroid games deserve better sales than what they get. It's actually my favorite nintendo Ip btw. This game is hard on Veteran and Hyper mode but Normal is good for first time. I cleared this game on every mode and first time took me 25 hours 100% ending.

If it comes to precision, nothing snipes like a computer mouse. The keyboard can give you plenty of options, but most of the buttons are unpressable while using the arrow keys and shooting at the same time. But when it comes to downright realism, the Wii-Mote + Nunchuck takes the cake.

They may be more 'realistic' but then I wasn't arguing against that. I was only talking about the practicality of console controllers versus Keyboard/Mouse.
Besides which, I find it really easy to press nearly any key on my keyboard even while I'm using WASD. I don't know why any game would limit your controls to be set up as arrow keys because it's a frankly stupid place to have the movement keys. WASD works way better.

dude... you dont need a keyboard to feel cool... even the Gamecube controller worked perfectly in Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime II: Echoes... i never felt like needing a keyboard and a mouse for that... and now controlling it with a wii must be so fucking better...besides... you can´t do what you see in this vid with a stupid pc..

You know, the reason why MP3 didn't sell as well as anticipated was probably becuse of advertising. I mean Halo 3 got inside looks at the development, posters, massive advertising, and its own soda. with MP3, Nintendo was the equivalent of "hey we have a game...so... yeah." I mean even the commercial sells the Wii more than the game itself. Now don't get me wrong, I love Metroid, and only used Halo because it's one of the biggest selling games of all time.

Metroid is also more of a "cult sensation" game with a strong following, but it's not mainstream like Halo. This generation of gamers were probably too young to have played Super Metroid even, and the Prime series was aimed at the "hardcore" crowd, who grew up with the series. The closest Nintendo got to actual marketing was its "Month of Metroid" campaign, and that was only accessible to people who already had a Wii.

Wii has a lot of potential, but right now there isn't a good library of games. This, Super Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros, and a few others are really good. Very little 3rd party games are good though.

I'm so sick of these "Wii Would Like To Play" style ads. They're so bland and boring and the actors pretending to be "amazed non-gamers" are so fake. Fine for stuff like Wii Sports, but doesn't convey the awesomeness of Metroid Prime 3 at all. Waste.

Brawl is no more now but a game full of bugs and cheats that makes us all no-life players. And online game is a real big S***. Mario Kart Wii is better. But in Metroid Prime 3, we finally become a character. I like to play Metroid and when I tried Corruption for the first time, I was in the game, saying nothing but playing only. In Halo, I'm not like in Metroid, using weapons to go straight. In Metroid, I must find power-ups, but I must go back to become more powerful and at the end, we can die.

best game so far.... thats pretty sad when u think about it, the Wii has been out for 2 years n only a hand full of quality games. makes u think about what to expect in the future. Metroid 3 is the only game i got for the Wii so far n the only thing im looking at in 2009 is The Conduit. Nintendo isnt showing much for the ppl who play constantly but a shit load for the ppl who touch the controls once every week. does that sound right to you ....? still love my Wii, n waiting for good games.

yeah i know and nintendo use to be a hardcore system now its a child or the term commonly used "family console" i don't have a wii i have a ps3 but if i would have owned a wii i wouldn't want to buy a family console i want a hardcore competitive console with great games. but on wii you get very little quality games cause even third party super games don't get on wii or the ones that do suck cause of controls. great wii games have to be tailor made for the wii like zelda metroid and galaxy.

i only got Metroid 3 since it is the only game that i liked, well it and Mohh2. i noe i saw that when i went game searching for new titles i see multiplatform games but they are only ps3 n 360.... finally find Wii n its Captain Rainbow or Spiderman, i dont want this shit. have every gen console n the Wii is the hardest to find games for, considering its highest selling console that is extremely bad. makes u wonder why so many people bought the Wii.

cause its a 'family' console. last time i was at d store looking at a couple of games & a guy came in & told him that he wants it 4 his family & himself 4 all 2 play with. d guy at d store told him than take d wii. also many die hard nintendo fans bought the console soley for the reputation that nintendo had with gamecube and the snes only to realize that the console does not live up to the ps3 and 360. also d japanese are a bunch of shitheads and just bought it thats why it has lots of sales.

The PS3 is a great system if you have no attention span and dont mind paying an obscene amount of money for bad games with good graphics. Don't get me wrong, PS3 does have *some* good games, MGS4 and Uncharted in particular but Wii has just as many. Im sorry if you're too lazy to actually DO something instead of mindless button mashing.
Wiis first party support by itself is better than the entire PS3 library

of those listed, only folklore, eye of judgment, FF13, granturismo 5, and uncharted: drakes fortune are not on computer, and with the exception of assassin's creed, they all are better on computer. And since we're talking PS3, FF13, is available on 360; and racing games in general are bland and generic; you can find them on any system. that means, of the list you provided, 3 are actually valid reasons to buy a PS3.

the motions controls in this game were decent i have to admit, but still felt lacking given what nintendo promised for the wiimote. i'm disappointed retro isn't making another prime, but i sure as hell want someone to make another metroid for wii--i even wouldn't mind an uber-polished 2d sidescroller a la four swords for gamecube. nintendo really does set the standard for games, and it's a shame like 1Sc1993 posted that metroid doesn't get more of that attention.

I really wish this game sold more. Metroid games deserve better sales than what they get. It's actually my favorite nintendo Ip btw. I guess it's too hard for the average player, and alot of hardcore players too. I thought it was easy but that is because I'm a metroid fanatic and played eery game at least 10 times each. The original metroid prime 23 times.

This game is hard on Veteran and Hyper mode but Normal is good for first time. I cleared this game on every mode and first time took me 25 hours 100% ending.
