  • Hey I just bought a 1986 944 put in a new battery and nice tune up car runs great only has 43000 miles on it. One problem the dash board went out doesn't work on it. Its not a fuse any suggestions on what it might be on the 1986 944? Any suggestions please let me know

  • im getting one for my first car ^_^

  • Hey, Is it possible to take a 85' Porshe 944 and convert it into a or just make it a turbo like the 951?

  • @TheeJukeBoxHero it will be cheaper to but the already turboed one.

  • Good looking car

  • IM FUCKIN SICK OF YOUTUBE ADS POPING UP ON THE SIDE OF MY VIDS!!!!!!!

    THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • MY FAV PORSCHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ok well lets just begin with that my dad has this same944 and ive wanted it so freaking bad i just love this944 black beauty.now tha only thing stoping me is that i live in california and the plates havent been payed since 02,03 so idk if cali would just set a price for me to pay to get it on the road again?and the fuel pump need to be replaced other than that its in perfect i mean perfect condition so ive been saving some money and i want to work on it any sugestions wat to inspect and do first

  • Wicked car!

  • arent 928 GT's better cars?

  • @MrDemolitionman99 yeah but way way more expensive, and lot's heavier and lot's less agile

  • that's a S2. They were built starting in 1989

  • These tend to sell cheap around wisconsin. ive seen three in great condition for around 3000

  • i got one but its not the s2 =(

  • Car looks mean especially with the new wheels! You got me drooling over it :)

  • Im looking at $9000nzd in cash and a 1988 porsche 944, which one shall i keep?

  • Anyone know if these turbo twists will(or if its possible) fit on my 1993 Audi S4 20valveTurbo 5 Zcyl?

  • How many waterpumps haveyou gone through?

  • stock 2.5L 150 hp.

  • nice and clean. 944 turbo's are getting pretty rare...that front bumper is over 1000 €

  • Im saving up some money so i can buy one of these when i turn 15 1/2 next summer. What do you guys think? My dad says that they are very unreliable and cost more to fix then they are worth. So i thought i would consult you guys since im sure a lot of you own this car and would know.

    Let me know! Thanks!

I saw your response up there lol

  • @FerreiralovesFerrari ur dad is right

  • im not sure how to make a whistling look with a keyboard but im whistling and saying dam nice ride way to keep it beautiful

  • I have a 1986 Porsche 944, but its not a turbo. Me and my dad did some remodeling on the car like put in new headers, cam, and crankshaft aswell as a k/n air intake. Also, we some work on the cylinder heads to. The makes about 212hp to the rear wheels and 240 ft lbs of torque. We put a Borla exhaust with two cat converters.

  • @Mr1980vette you got dynoed proof of that?

  • My 944 turbo looks just like yours! I even have the turbo-twist wheels too. Did you know there were only 178 turbos made in 1986? They are all European specs, and the official year for them is 1985.5.

I'm currently living in Germany, and I've had mine over 160 MPH several times.

  • i got 1 older then that

  • Did any 1983 944's come with turbo's?

  • @LetMrAL1 Nope, '86 - '91 only

  • gotta hand it to you...those wheels look bad ass...almost like they were made for that car

  • man, that s the rims im looking for, are that the light wight turbo cup from the boxter? love them

  • you have a very nice porsche 944`s

  • Still looks great after all these years. Fuck Porsche got this model right!

  • i want to buy one but idk alot about them can u tell me some FAQ's that u get or that u have herd of? please

  • @tylerwalker2 i own a s2 by myself, feel free to contact me

  • @TheMarvder1996 ok lol well yea lmao

  • You can fix that Odometer gear pretty easily. Part is less than $5.

  • Im getting ready to buy a white 944 Turbo. how much did it cost to drop an new engine in it just in case i need to do the same? Thanks and beautiful car!

  • @zestyguy87 You should never need a new engine. They are excellently engineered. If the car was well maintained, you should easily get 250k out of an engine. I change my oil every 3k in my 944.

  • Rims are beautiful

  • @Cory00yeah yap. i want them for my s2, first choice would be the light wight (origanal porsche) cup rims 8" front 9" rear.

  • i might get a 944 turbo for my first car! God i would love that

  • @JL3Wind, same here im getting one next week!

  • @armedturtle congratulations! :) ooo i want one so bad!

  • I was thinking about buying one of these in the future. I've seen several used, clean, running Porsche 944's on eBay for anywhere from $200.00, to over $5,000.00...

But I'm wondering if this is some sort of beginner's trap where you buy the car for...say $2,500, and it will break down a few months later, and the parts to repair it end up costing you hundreds more?

Or do these cars just sell that cheaply nowadays?

  • The 944 is a very reliable car -if it's been well cared for.

Don't buy a cheap 944....the cost to bring it to spec is high. Also it's a Porsche so don't expect parts to be cheap.

  • @smasheditorial

    So I see....thanks!

  • Are 944's Good Quality Cars

  • I would not suggest buying one unless you are or know a good mechanic.

  • @mandmlaird you say they break down alot? how so like what goes wrong with it

  • @beerchops a 944 that breaks down alot is one thats been neglected its whole life, dont listen to that, if you find a pristine example, you will have a reliable car. you jsut need to be more anal about servicing. changing the timing belts than say a toyota corolla, after all it is a high performance car

  • @mandmlaird yeah they have alot of parts you will never see on other cars

  • @mandmlaird.... what if you aren't a good mechanic? are the repairs pricey?

  • @VollgasHero ......no,,,,,,

  • @mandmlaird I was thinking of buying one also. I know some stuff about cars and mt brother is a mechanic. My question is why you don't suggest buying if you aren't or don't know a mechanic? Yours looks exactly like the one I want but yours is just so clean!!! Thanks for any info and for the vid. post more!!!

  • I was wondering the same thing.Older model? High maintenance repair costs perhaps? Surely is a beautiful machine nevertheless.

  • @mandmlaird Sounds like you speak from experience ?

  • @mandmlaird

rly?, cause i want one sooo bad, not the turbo, but normal one :)

  • @bamboali I would not go for the normal one to be honest. All the variations are around the same price so get a S2 or a Turbo. The normal one is slower than most to all of todays sports cars. But the Turbo and S2 truly hold their own. If you are worried about reliabillity get the S2 i would trust that more than the base any day. Just my opinion.

  • @DEC0Y0CT0PUS

    thnx ;)

  • @lomborghinigallardo yes, they are, you just need to keep up with maintenance and its the most reliable car ever, its not like a toyota where you can go years without doing anything. you gotta keep an eye on her internals ie timing belt, balance belt, if youve got a turbo you gotta get them rebuilt every 100k or so. if youve got a 16 valve head ( s or s2 ) gotta keep up on the cam chain tensioner.

  • @lomborghinigallardo Yes, our 1985 944 Lux (base model) was front and rear ended, and is still on the road (with repairs obviously) You do need a bit of know how though, because they are getting old. Ours has had a fuel pump (and relay) done and now has an overheating ignition switch which is the new prob. However they are not as troublesome as some Italian supercars, because they have a simple engine.

  • @lomborghinigallardo

Yes, they're good quality cars, buy one.

  • @lomborghinigallardo Wel it depents on howmutch money you want to spend, mostly 944's Above 25.000,-Euro's are better quality than the ones below 25.000,-

  • @Chavesshu .???25.000€ for 944??? you buy a 911 for that money??!!

  • @lomborghinigallardo

Yes! If maintained sensibly they have reasonable costs for a car of this caliber

  • I had a 944 turbo s snr 671 diamand black. looked better in the sunlight.but there isnt much sun here.great car

  • Never mind you dont have any tinting it was just the glare.

  • It looks just like mine. I am debating getting the windows tinted but after seeing this I am going for it. I like your rims better than my cookie cutters though. How dark is your tint percentage?

  • im selling my 1985.5 944 n/a for $2,500

  • where do you live i would love to buy that off you

  • western wisconsin

  • Matt, are you trying to sell your car and if so, how much are you looking to get for it?

    Thank you!

  • I have a 1988 951s. I love this car, but.... I think its like a love hate relationship.... The car will be perfect for a while and then everything goes wrong with it!

  • enjoy!

  • woops, i just came on myself :0

  • nice and slick my man. like the black. wanna trade for my red '86 944? haha

  • I like these, but in the UK, the dash boards are cracked and they are rusted through real bad.

    your is anything but that.

  • no excuse for not fixing the odometer.

  • ill give 13 k for it

  • Das ist alles? Just wait till you see my new baby!

  • are you selling it? if so how much and if not id like to know how much you would sell it for im looking to buy one

  • Lovely car mate. Looks good in black. Had a white one about 10 years ago...still miss it!

  • You're car is AMAZING, compliments for your care...my dream, from Italy

  • dude nice love that color mines is yellow

  • that looks so good especially in black

  • wew

  • Comment removed

  • That's factory stock and was also used on the 944S2(16-valve non-turbo).

  • really?

  • @boujouj its a stock turbo 944 bumper

  • @boujouj OEM

  • @boujouj

They come like this on the Turbo and S2 models.

  • @boujouj lol that bumper is standard and more expensive then a new bmw 5 series bumper :P

  • @Aightnigguh8D i know its the standard bumper and just to let you know i have the same car so i was gunna buy the turbo nose and i meant where to buy one ?

  • @boujouj Hmmm, smexy front one yes indeed, too bad for the US-Style Rear bumper... I realy hate that the ''US'' ruines the look of the car with the big rubber bumpercovers...

  • Clean...

  • i have a white one f reg 88

  • i have one porsche 944 but it´s very old...your car it´s THE PORSCHE 944

  • Great in black livery ...I owned a 944 in this 220 Hp trim, painted in rare metal platinum nicely fitting the bodyshell as well.

    Awesome car,actually underrated by then...

  • Nice car, I's gots me a Blue one.....

  • beautiful car

  • muy bonito

  • awesome! I have a S2....

  • beauti

  • I know that in the 924s if you press the odometer reset button while the car is moving, it can break the odometer. I don't know if this holds true for the 944, but it's an easy fix if that is what happened. Might wanna check that out.

  • This is the same on the 944. I had an '83 944 that the previous own had done just that and like you said, it's an easy fix as I performed the maintenance myself.

  • howd u fix it, mine broke over a yr ago

  • it could be the odometer's gears, theyre plastic so you might want to check if the teeth broked off, mine did the same on my 86 944,

  • where is that button?

  • on the left of the wheel. its in the vetn grille thingy

  • shit thanks man. figures as soon as i find that out i blow it up.. i think the timing belt sliped.. or maybe it was because i ran straight headers for a few weeks.. who knows. thanks tho

  • nice porsche

  • sweeet 944....check out mine
