@orlandomedic thanks :)! i just do it for the community. the tech blogs have really given this device a bad reputation. but this device is extremely nice when it comes to mod-ing and hacking~
which one are u using, bro? pixelqi or lcd? i ordered for the pqi, but my uses are majorly indoors with a bit of travelling.. wud it be a problem? skeptical now..
@Frekas9291 you have several options. the easiest method is just playing your movie from a USB key if you dont to deal with a micro usb cable or taking your microsd card out.
well thats the main idea behind adam.they wanted to create a open source tablet,u can customise it in whichever way u like.join us on their blog n get cool ideas behind its creation.cheers n have fun wid ur adam.
I have no idea why NI experimented so much with their UI. Not only they spent so much time and money on it, but it looks like a flop.=, in contrast to the very nice hardware the Adam pack. By the time Honeycomb is released there will be other competing tablets.
Does the Google driving navigation or google maps work on your ADWLauncher?
@superstarichiban it's just choices and preferences, which is what android is all about. notion ink UI works fine from what you see from other bloggers.
great work inspiron41!!!! would be overjoyed if you could make another video on how you installed ADWlauncher on adam. It will be a great help for non-techies like me.
This isn't a review of the Notion Adam Ink. Changing the software that the device comes with is foolish and misleading of the device's intended experience. We're all impressed you know how to install custom roms, but how's about an actual review?
@MrRosentorp first you need to get a back up of ADWlauncher. If you have an android device, install the latest copy of ADWlauncher (or any other skin of your preference), then back it up it up to apk file. You can use titanium back up or astro file manager. i used astro file manager. then locate the apk file in "backups" folder and then transfer it to a usb key. and then open the apk file from the usb key with Notionink's Sniffer and it should work perfectly.
@Inspiron41 Hi, it would be greatly appreciated if any1 could quickly just clarify a few things for me.
Well I havent ever used a android device and this is the main problem. Im expecting to receive my adam soon as so im not just sat there looking at the home screen, could you tell me how you get and download apps?is their a website you simply go on, on the device and download directly to the adam, or do you have to download an app similar to installous for iPhone's
@shirty12345 I would recomend to go to xda developers website, go to forums and search for the adam, once there go to development, if the is a way to get the full market there will be a tutorial on how to do it. if for some reason the tutorial is too hard to follow, go to android central forums and search for your device there too, AC forums is much more noob friendly than XDA forums.

Here's my question for you. I've heard everyone complaining about the screen protector, did you have it applied? It didn't look like it. After watching some video's I'm wondering if that's part of the cause of the un-responsive screen. It looks great once you get rid of Eden. Hopefully they'll fix it.
@tokrika and by that I mean it doesn't look very responsive at all. sadly. Looking forward to NI figuring out that update of theirs to see if I should regret my priorities or not :P
no accessories yet i presume, how about a stand or case? any ideas yet for those? Also, have you tried connecting a bluetooth keyboard/mouse. Must be nice to have the mini usb there. What happens when you plug your phone into the mini usb, does it charge the phone? Is the HDMI out mirrored, would like to see this connected to a hdtv. Otherwise great review, thanks.
If you just want an Android Tablet with the phone version of Android, why did you buy a relatively expensive Notion Ink Adam? A cheaper tablet, like the Archos 101, would have the same job for you.
Great video dude. I was wondering what your thoughts were on teh responsiveness of the screen. Did you find it to be as responsive as you thought? Also, what did you think about the colors on the screen? Just from the video, it looks a lot better than some other examples i've seen out there.
@zeee88 deep downscreen was very responsive, but it depends on the application you're using. some of the applications i tried to install were not suitable for tablets. but some worked just fine. like some games i loaded weren't sized correctly (gameloft). and i guess i'll try to look for applications optimized Galaxy Tab or something
@Inspiron41 Thanks for the response boss! I was referring more to interactions with the OS in general, not specifically in any application. For example, clicking an icon, does it ever take more than 1 or 2 attempts? Also glad to see your HD videos are working, I saw a unit earlier who couldn't run anything about 480.
Respond to this video... The colors on the PQ look better on full brightness. As you set it to auto it'll look washed out. but i'm comparing it to my Super AMOLED Nexus S, which is hard to beat when you compare to color saturation. But i do have to say i'm impressed with battery life so far.
@zeee88 The screen is responsive. i never had to press hard on anything to get anything to open or to respond. But if you want to compare the touch screen responsiveness, it's between the Nexus S and Nexus One, minus the errors found in the Nexus One screen. As for the colors, i'm a photographer. They're not as stellar as like the Nexus S (Super AMOLED) when you compare color saturation and viewing angles. But they're slightly better than iPhone 3Gs i would have to say
@mulls8983 Quickoffice seems to work. I think it's the full verison. Powerpoint, word and excel work fine. You can even do "simple" text edits and save it from what i can see.
why dont you load veganTab or TnT on it instead? I think the guys at xda have a method for loading those ROMs as well as a way to install android market and flash 10.. it's mostly instructions for the g-tablet (also has the tegra chipset), but i think it should work for the adam as well. just post there and ask the experts.
Excellent job, Inspiron. I guess you covered the most anyone would like to know about Adam. May when its shining outside, you can get PQi checked as well.
Glad you took some time to make a video for us. Looks like NotionInk still has some work to do. Which applications are installed by default on the Adam?
ooOOoooO, try more apps :D and the fluidity of the responsiveness of the screen (the adam leaves and ADW) try fruit ninja or raging thunder lite. really just MORE APPS

@superstarichiban It's not a ROM, it's a launcher application that replaces the homescreen which caused the NI to use the default android UI.
