Republicans are a bunch of ignorant malcontents, who can be worked into a frenzy about anything. They simply can't live with the reality that they lost the election so badly. Their desperation has lead them to look increasingly insane. Their divorce from reality and retreat into the political netherland of subjective hate and fear, runs counter to the direction of the conciousness of our country. These Palinesque optics will lead them to a major defeat in 2010 and 2012. Life is beautiful.

President Obama needs to start exercising his right to use some of that "Good-Will" he developed during the 2008 Campaign. He has a 60 vote strong advantage. Now, not later is the time to make this "CHANGE" work.
The Recovery Act is working the same way here in California. I can think of at least three major construction projects in my area that are sorely needed, and that were able to resume work after being stagnant for months and months thanks to the stimulus money. Same with thousands of jobs that would have disappeared and they didn't. This recovery will take time, but it is undoubtedly taking place little by little. The problem is that people don't understand the timetable, and get exasperated.
The Republicans drive the economy into a ditch. Obama calls a tow truck. The Republicans stand in the way of the tow truck. The Republicans throw things at the tow truck. The Republicans try to drain the oil from the tow truck. The Republicans vandalize the tow truck.
Then, the Republicans complain that the tow truck is taking too long.
That was a very excellent analogy of exactly what is happening in Congress
A part of my visceral side wants to see President Obama just go totally "South-Side of Chicago" on their asses
I realize that it's going to take time to fix what took 8yrs to break. But I can't squash the feelings inside me that wants him to just grab Congress by the throats and hold their feet to flames until they pass the needed legislation
These people and their misdirection and BS are wearing my patience thin
@mistergarth Not only that, but when the tow truck arrives and gets something done, they jump in front of the camera to take credit. Repubs have been doing that across the country with stimulus projects they voted against.
And Boehner didn't even have to defend his record in a public forum. Refused to debate his opponent - still got re-elected. Sad.

US ECONOMY IN LAYMAN TERMS:
2000~BUSH~REPUBLICANS Congress started a fire to our HOUSE & allowed it to BURN DOWN.
2007~DEMOCRATIC Congress with 1 majority vote are BLOCKED by BUSH~REPUBLICANS from putting out the fire.
2009~DEMOCRATS using our Money are now cleaning up the mess & rebuilding our HOUSE with Smoke Alarms to prevent it from happening again.
WE THE PEOPLE know that it takes MORE TIME--MORE MONEY--to rebuild a HOUSE from the ground up...than it was to let it BURN DOWN.
