  • @1:12 Judy Davis was surprised to learn that she was from England and not Australia.

  • She has been hot for as long as I have seen her.

  • Gene on 1:40 ..."yea shes beautiful i would easily bang her" xD

  • It amazing that Marisa Tomei was fired from "A Different World" after the first season & now she an Oscar Winner and was nominated two more times. Not bad for a girl that was let go from a T.V. gig. I hope to see her get more nominations in the future.

  • wow, it was so much less obnoxious and so much more watchable back then.

  • jesus, joe pesci is harrier than robin wiliams there

  • Dead on balls accurate.

  • Joan Judy David.

  • She is so fucking hot.

  • Which one is from Brooklyn?

  • @apatheist89 tomei

  • miranda richardson was robbed

  • She might be the most adorable person ever.

  • Sometimes I think it actually takes more skill to give a good comedic performance than a good dramatic performance. It's a shame so many of the good comedic ones go unrecognized by so many award shows...

  • Joe Pesci looks like Robin Williams.

  • Judy Davis is Australian. Hence her expression, haha. I know he was a bit along in years, but come on, it's only five women.

  • Marisa is STILL hot as hell!

  • She has such a soothing voice and smile.

  • One of the most beautiful women on Earth.

  • @camporosso She really is gorgeous.

  • What The Fuck Hapend to Joe Pesci. His Like the missing link

  • She sounds like a little girl!

  • it's not the most dignified defense of her win, but seriously everybody, she was fucking funny in that movie.

  • Um...wrong choice. Seriously, she was the by far the weakest in that category. And what a coincidence that she was the only American amongst 3 Brits and an Aussie....hmmm....I smell

    something fishy here....

  • at 1:30 someone is starting to get murdered. Guess no one cares

  • She is so adorable!! :D

  • She's so awesome!

  • Marisa Tomei's performance was the best in this category. The Academy got this one right!

  • cute as a button

  • no one-handed pushups? i'm disappointed Mr. Palance

  • Jack Palance : Judy Davis is Australian . . . .

  • doesn't she remind you of Sandra Bullock?

  • @charizianne Sandra Bullock is awful, marisa is beatiful

  • marisa is one of a kind , so sweet , beautiful and talented Its very Wonderful, talented!!!

  • he takes longer breath breaks that the kid from malcom in the middle

  • I would like for her to sit on face for the entire day please.

  • she melted my heart

  • some woman is getting murdered in the background!

  • @thehorror24 Yes, I think it is AnthonyPerkins doing his Norman Bates thing in "Psycho". In all seriousness, this was a baffling choice, all of the other 4 actresses, especially JudyDavis deserved this over Tomei. However, she (Tomei) was wonderful about ten years later in the SissySpaceck/Tom Wilkinson starring film: "In the Bedroom",when she should have won in 2002.

  • Probably the easiest woman in the world to fall in love with & how could you not love the accent she does in the movie? I agree rosie perez was also good in white men cant jump

  • marisa is one of a kind , so sweet , beautiful and talented . unlike many in hollywood that are full of them selves. i love seeing her on the big screen and would love to date her

  • One of the best performances ever, and well deserved:)!

  • I can't believe it, someone is being murdered 1:35 onwards, and all everyone is doing is clapping and focusing on Tomei.

  • @bradley583 lol

  • @bradley583 LMAOOOOOO!

  • @bradley583 wtf r u talkin about

  • @bradley583 hahahaha

  • she has got to be one of the cutest girls what a sweety the way she talks so lady like.

  • Marisa Tomei is still hot

  • Marisa is the true definition of a supporting actress. She was funny, memorable, and stole all the scenes she was in. If it were a dramatic performance, with plenty of crying and screaming scenes (which the other nominees were), people would take her winning seriously. But because it's comedic, they automatically think it's trash or unworthy. Also, because she was merely a "sitcom actress" at that point and the others were more "established," people don't take her seriously.

  • 1:40 Tom Hank's dad

  • @SmashBrosFan19 that's gene hackman

  • @SmashBrosFan19 That's actually Gene Hackman you moron

  • OMG SHE IS SO CUTE HAHA

  • I'm so sick & tired of people who bash actors/actresses who win for a comedic performance!Comedy is not as easy as it seems. It requires a lot of skill and subtility things that Marisa definitely showed in her performance. She's definitely a very worthy winner.

  • @mensahcarrelle That is very true. Not every actor/actress can do comedy films, at least not well. Obviously Marisa Tomei can.

  • @CubfanDaMann THANKS

  • joe pesci looked homless!

  • @tslabjr7 He looked like an Ewok.

  • @tslabjr7 maybe he was at that time, he was just divorced there :D

  • she is sooooo beautiful

  • holy crap they passed up the 4 greatest supporting perfomances maybe EVER to give it to HER??? eeeek.

  • Queeny missed a trick there. She could have had all the nominees' heads cut off, thereby giving her the Oscar by default. Simple!

  • God I love her to bits, gorgeous woman, gorgeous face, gorgeous smile, laugh and talent

  • Her character created a catch phrase. Who can forget my biological clock is ticking.

  • So....not only did Marisa Tomei win (the biggest upset in HISTORY), but she beat out Vanessa Redgrave, Judy Davis, Miranda Richardson and Joan Plowright????? Um...yeah...ok then.

  • Marisa was AMAZING in this film, and truly deserved this Oscar. But I also felt that Rosie Perez should have been up, and possibly won for "White Men Can't Jump." She, like Marisa, had a really brash and hilarious comedic role that really "stole" that film.

  • love her

  • when comedy type movies were still great and can be oscar-nominated

  • just like Kirk Douglas in 2011... too freaking long!!!

  • Probably one of the biggest upsets in oscar history.

  • @bleachbred Nope - the biggest upset was Julia Roberts winning over Ellen Burstyn in "Requiem For A Dream"

  • omg you have to watch half the flipping video before he opens the envelope. shut up whoever you are

  • It's the girl from Dennis the Menace!

  • I did not see "My Cousin Vinny" until well after the awards. I had heard of her performance and I must agree that the award was well deserved. Good her her!

  • She never aged. She still looks awesome almost 20 years later.

  • @klausweasley Exactly! I don't get why people believe acting comedy isn't hard! It very much is -_-

  • shes the love of my life

  • Get on with the speech, my biological clock is ticking here

  • She was fantastic in this role. Clever writing never hurts either.

  • She was also amazing in Untamed Heart.

  • That NRA guy kind of sucks at presenting awards.

  • @XvxBERSERKxvX That's Jack Palance. Charlton Heston was the NRA guy.

  • @XvxBERSERKxvX That was the great Jack Palance. You're getting him mixed up with Charlton Heston.

  • 2:20 Holy Crap ! Whats Gimili doing there! Ten Years too early Dwarf !

  • Marisa Tomei, to me, is one of the few actresses who is awesome in everything they do. She's a fantastic actress and let the nominations/wins keep coming.

  • Comedic performance is underestimated sometimes especially at the Oscars.

    She totally deserved it.

  • and my biological clock i s ticking like-this and at this point i aint ever getting married

  • lol Joe pesci's beard 2:19

  • @ishyman1983 wow, yeah, he is almost unregonisable to me with that beard!

  • She is one of those women that seems to grow more beautiful with age...like Diane Keaton. I think she's hotter now than she was in '93.

  • she was excellent and deserve it; it wasn't fault - it's 100% academy's choice, they couldn't afford themselves that scandal

  • ugggghh my cousin vinny was so wack to me

  • I love Marisa but damn, she acted retarded as fuck here

  • @Alos21 lmao im crying ova here

  • Judy Davis is Australian not British. You can see her reaction when Jack Palance says that four of the nominees are British.

  • SHE DIDNT DESERVE THAT AWARD: ROSIE PEREZ WAS MUCH BETTER IN "WHITE MEN CANT JUMP",ALSO EARTHA KITT,AND GRACE JONES WERE SCENE STEALERS IN "BOOMERANG"

  • @POORGEORGIE1

It was in 1993 get over it .

  • everyone assumed he read the wrong name

  • She should have also won for the Wrestler...she was awesome in the movie.

  • No error. Palance said the right name!!!!! Tomei was the real winner and she deserved the award. She was very brilliant in "My cousin Vinny".

American film critic Rex Reed invented a ridiculous and absurd story.

Marisa Tomei is a magnificent actress, indeed she was nominated also for "In the bedroom" and "The wrestler".

  • marisa its like a little mouse, she is adorable!!!!

  • This was nothing like I heard. He was definite when he read: Marisa Tomei. There seems to be no mistake.

  • Look at Judy's face at around 1:13 She looked like "I'm AUSTRALIAN, BITCH!!!!!!"

  • @Kirandera hahahaha yes!

  • im british and i love her:P

  • One of the most deserving wins of the decade! One of the least deserving wins of that same decade would be Shakespeare in Love for Best Picture.

  • How did the only bad thing about My Cousin Vinny win best supporting actress? Here voice is more annoying than Fran Drescher and the movie would have been flawless if not for her character.

  • @stigler30 Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but I believe without her, the movie wouldn't have been nearly as good. She had wonderful chemistry with Peschi, she had some great dialogue with him (especially the deer hunting story), and she frikkin' killed that scene when she was a witness. The accent didn't bother me at all, but your point is fair enough. I can see why it would be annoying to some people.

  • Judy Davis (australian) clearly says "I'm not english!" on 1:15!! hahaha xD

  • jajajaja 2:21 thats mister joe pesci??? i though this man was a homeless gatecrasher in show. im only kidding..;-) but he is unrecognizable :-0 i like a lot his roles in martin scorsese,s movies as tough and violent guy!!

  • Marisa Tomei was like "What's he talking about"? at 1:08-1:13!

  • She deserrved with no doubt

  • Her name should be Marrisa Plowright.

  • she looks so cute here

  • She is fucking belting in that film. Great actress, deserved win, great looking lass, less than perfect acceptance speech.

  • she should have worn her crazy purple dress from my cousin vinny

  • For all the very unfair attention that's undermined the academy's recognition of Tomei it may have been simply better had she received it for In The Bedroom: had she won for that film, in which she almost embodies the bruise of Natalie in a delicately stunning performance all naysayers would have been silenced. Tomei may be light in person but she's a damn fine actor.

  • Love her

  • "hi marissa .. look my wife just died and id like to meet you again "

"tomorrow i cant because of the funeral "

    "after tomorrow ok ?"

  • I love this woman

  • Marisa hottest woman alive!!!!

  • she did it....she beat God and Time....

  • Jack Palance ... "pick up the gun " Bill Hicks

  • she can get ittt

  • btw, Peshi himself should have been nominated that year, just saying.

  • whats up with Joe Peschi?

He doesn't look like a bum, but something that crawled out of the ass of a bum.

What's a great actor like that looking, well, like that for?

  • whats up with Joe Peschi?

He doesn't look like a bum, but something that crawled out of the ass of a bum.

  • That smile...

  • Comment removed

  • Arghhhh. She's so cute. It's almost unbearable.

  • Did anyone else hear that loud screaming when she was walking on stage???

  • Was it just me or was the this whole segment awkward and difficult to watch

  • Marissa is like a fine bottle of wine...

  • @CircaMay85

....that's been left on the counter for a week in hot weather.

  • Gaga wants here to play her.

  • joe peschie is fucking hairy ...

  • Four english actresses and one from brooklyn. You can just see Judy Davis saying to everyone around her "i'm not english, i'm not english"

  • Comment removed

  • And the one from Brooklyn beat four foreign actresses.

  • Wth was going on with Joe Pesci?

  • Jack Palance should of won an award for "Curly" from City Slickers, funny as hell!!!

  • @vfgjhj he did win the oscar for it

  • @vfgjhj

He did the previous which is why he's presenting this year.

  • @vfgjhj He did win an Oscar for his part in "City Slickers".

  • Oscars used to be so much btter in the old days...

  • @POTTERMUSICALitalia

Everything use to be better back in the day.

  • she has two prime looks: her unusual hot look in my cousin vinnie (she almost looked like someone else) and her usual looks during the late 90's. she got hotter as she grew older( excluding her look in Vinnie) but now she's past her peak (2003ish I think). although she looks great in before the devil and War inc. she's still very attractive. regarding the oscar, haha, I think is not a bad thing that she won. it's fair.

  • she doesnt actually have a thick NY accent? whaaat? haha so she just put one on for the movie? it sounded like she was really from NY.

  • @livelaughlovek21 she is really from ny and she really does have a ny accent, but like most famous people they try and lose there ny accent for fear of sounding trashy...

  • judy davis is actually australian. she looks really pissed off that jack thought she was british.

  • so cute she almost tripped going up the stairs

  • CUTE AS A BUTTON!

  • BABE

  • Jack is drunk! what a shame.

  • I LOVE that she won while up against the cream of the crop in acting. Her role was just so wonderful and lovely that they had to give it to her! For me, she made the movie.

  • this was fixed

  • Marisa is the most beautiful and talented actress in Hollywood still to this day. I just want to see her shine as top biller in just one awesome movie, please! She is relentlessly beautiful. God, I love her.

  • tomie was great

  • She's such a princess! I love her!

  • Marisa receiving the Oscar was not widely appreciated and accepted at the time or even for several years afterwards. Perhaps it was because MT is such a pretty lady or because she did not leave much of a legacy in the 1990's. Fortunately, there were some in Hollywood who recognized that she is indeed one of the truly gifted actresses of her era. This award looks like a very smart choice today.

  • @industrialsun I think it's also the movie itself. My Cousin Vinny is a comedy, and they prefer to avoid comedies whenever possible.

  • @industrialsun You got that right. I have NEVER even heard of the movies that the other women were in. I damn well never see any of their movies on vhs/dvd at the video store. But i always see "My Cousin Vinny" in the comedy section. I just saw it a week ago. I give it a "10". MT earned that Oscar for the part she played. I especially liked all the scenes in which she was wearing a nightie. i wish i would've seen this movie back in '92.

  • @vxy357

Uh, how can you say that MT earned the BEST supporting award when you haven't even seen the other four movies? A "10"? Watch the other four, then watch your "10" dwindle to a zero.

  • @industrialsun

You are quite wrong. ANY of the other four actresses are far superior choices, especially Redgrave and Richardson. I mean, really, does anyone think MT is a better actress than Redgrave? Actually, is ANYONE better? No. Not even Streep (whom I love).

MT got the award because she was the only American actress of the five, period. My Cousin Vinny is a lousy movie. And all MT does now is the same floozy/slutty bit.

  • @calvintoronto I hate you like I hate the Nazi's
