Some years ago I read a US MoD Defence White paper. It considered Russian radar technology to be a threat. Interpret that is "equal to or better than ours". In fact it is one of their strong points. Its nothing fancy, the Ruskies just like to pump out more kW of energy on their systems & hope to get reflection. So if I think this through a little... The SU-37 may have a better radar, but the F-22 has got better stealth. Who sees who first? F-22 might squeeze off a shot first..
I think the proper term in this case would be "arrogant". I may be one to support my countries planes more than other countries, but I am certainly not ignorant. I'd like to see what would happen if the Su-37 were to have stealth capabilities comparable to the F-22. It would be a pretty funny thing to see the reaction on the pilots face when he gets a visual and not have a damn thing appear on his radar screen hehe. However the Su-37 would need a TON of work that might ruin it's maneuverability advantages over the F-22 to make it happen.
And I doubt that the Su-37 would be able to perform many of the crazy moves it performs at airshows with a full combat payload. I'm also not sure if the Russian Air Force trains it's pilots to be able to perform those moves in the first place.
