I saw pilots get this low all the time when I was there. Mostly Cobra's though. I was out of TQ. You'd be going down rout liemen and see a cobra hauling ass 10 15 feet off the deck buzzing your patrol rout. We loved it =)

The calls of "fake" because there's no rotor wash. There's not much wash because the helo is moving forward, the wash only get severe with it is moving slowly or hovering. During normal forward flight the rotor wash is minimal.

your thinking of the KA50 blackshark its a russian support gunship. its the only one thats really used with the stacked coax rotors. sikorski makes a civilian helo with the system but its just an expensive rich people shuttle. apaches only have a single main rotor and a tail rotor where the coax rotor system doesnt need a tail rotor.

the AH-64 has two counter rotating rotors, one job is to make it makes less noise and the second job is to keep most of the dust near the ground to protect the engines, and so that the enemy cant see them from 10 miles away..... no dust means that the Apache is doing it's job sneaking up on it's target...
