  • I like the part of the "Hail Mary" that says: " - pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death - makes you feel less alone if you think that Mary would bother to be with us in the hour of our death...some family members -are too busy

  • Splendid music, thank you for uploading

  • I used to be very 'anti Marian' but after reading Dr Scott Hahn's book, "Hail Holy Queen" I realised how special Jesus mother would be to him. If Jesus is both my Lord and my brother then Mary is my mother too. I am grateful for Mary's motherhood and join with the millions before me who cry "Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb."

  • Well, ooops, I just found the answer to my own question: "Salve regina virgini immaculata" is not from the Cancionero Upsala, it is from the Llibre Vermell, and this performance is by Alla Francesca. Over two dozen CDs contain all the Llibre Vermell pilgrim songs. Best wishes ...

  • Who DOES sing this? I would love to hear more from this ensemble! You identified this as "Mariam matrem virginem", and I know that it is from the Cancionero de Upsala manuscript 1525. About the other nastiness that emerged around this video, (and other religious amaterial posted on YouTube) it helps to remember two things: negative people feed upon others' negativity, and the worst of commentators can't get an audience elsewhere and thrive on the anonymity of YouTube. Kind thoughts ...

  • Who sings this? Thanks

  • Doctor: 'Your recovery was a miracle!'

Patient: 'PRAISE GOD. Now I don't have to pay you!'

  • @JOHNTHREESIXTEEN et al - Please, leave the Catholics alone. They have their faith, you have yours, and a little respect would be nice. You're just making yourselves look foolish, not to say downright ignorant and bigotted. Go preach to the Infidel if you have the balls for it? No, thought not. You just pester the Catholics, cos they won't be smiting your asses any time soon! Now begone and let this Pagan enjoy the beautiful music!

  • grig60 I appreciate the defense of the faith, but lets keep a civil tongue here. johnthreesixteen316, its obvious you no nothing about Catholicism, so why don't you do some research before you continue making a fool of yourself.

  • @virumdei Apologies Mea

  • Ave Maria!

  • THE VIRGIN MARY IS SO POWERFUL.

  • @FRANCECHILD Hello friend. The Bible says Mary was not a virgin. Christ is the One with all of the power.

  • OKay guys, seriously, If you are anti-Catholic, why do you even bother watching Catholic videos. If you are confused about Catholic doctrine, why are you being so dissmissive instead of receptive. kiwichristian2009 is now block for being rude, and and insulting our religion. If you aren't Catholic but love Mary the mother of the Saviour, then welcome, If you have questions about Catholicism by all means ask. If you seek to enrage, or post nasty, dissmisive comments do not or I will block you.

  • @virumdei Hello friend. I've just read kiwichristian's comments. All I see is biblical truth being spoken. Looks to me like this person wants to deliver a message of truth to Roman Catholics.

  • Nowhere does the Bible says Mary was sinless or the exception to sin passed on from each generation. For such a miraculous event the Bible surely would have spoken to this issue. Catholics do not find this doctrine from the context of Scripture but from making a pretext out of the Scripture from their Church tradition (which happens to be written down). But again it is not apostolic tradition.

  • Jesus said " I am the way, the truth, and the life. Noone comes to the father but through me." Meaning Jesus is the only one to save your soul. Mary cannot hear our prayers. The Bible also tells us to prove all things and hold fast to what is true. It doesnt matter if every pope said she was. The Bible is Gods word. Follow The Word and not the system of religion.

  • @kiwichristian2009 I do follow the bible, and the apostolic tradition of the church, Jesus said to follow the all his teachings, this means we honor whomsoever he honors, which in perfecting the law of israel means the virgin mary, whom God has put emnity between her and the serpent, and made her overflowing with grace. This is Theotokos, the mother of God whom we apostolic christian honor (not worship[ or adore). If you don't respect this, you have no buisness commenting here. God bless you.

  • @virumdei ...But again it is not apostolic tradition. If Mary was conceived without sin then her parents would have certainly known and would have assumed she was to bare the Messiah.

  • @kiwichristian2009 Hello friend. If Mary was conceived without sin in order to give birth to a sinless Jesus then it only makes sense that Mary's mother would need to be sinless too so she could bring sinless Mary into the world. And then Mary's grandmother would have to be sinless to bring Mary's sinless mother into the world etc. etc. There has to be a sinless starting point and that point is Christ.

  • @johnthreesixteen316

OS is not a biological inheritance, hence not imputed fm generation-generation. If Mary was contemplated as the New Eve by the NT and by Tradition, Christ Jesus then could not have sprung from her virginal womb if there was a remnant of the old humanity in her. It was God’s will (1 Phil 1:6) and through His grace via Christ Jesus her Son that she was preserved.

  • @virumdei What happens when your tradition CONTRADICTS the Word of God. What has priority?

  • @kiwichristian2009 The Prots especially the Calvinists cannot deal with the Catholic/Orthodox/Anglican ideas about the Virgin Mary since they have such a negative view of human nature (depravity) and cannot accept how a human being like Mary can play such an important role in salvation history.

  • @kiwichristian2009 Ok. I've followed the dialogue long enough without making comment. Now enough is enough. Do Catholics, Orthodox, Coptic & Muslims worship Mary? If you think so then you are woefully ignorant! There is a difference between worhiping and asking someone to pray for us. I don't believe you preach, but attack in the effort to cause dissention, which leads me to question whether you really are a Christian. So might I suggest that you slither back into your pit!

  • @grig60 Hello friend. Communicating with the dead (Mary) is strickly forbidden.....Deuteronomy. Besides, the dead know nothing....Ecclesiastes 9:5 "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten."

The dead won't know anything until the resurrection which hasn't happened yet. Pray to Christ, not Mary. She can't hear you.

  • @johnthreesixteen316 Refer to Matthew 22 and to summarize, God is not a god of the dead but a GOD OF THE LIVING, which is probably why Catholics venerate their saints which is an expression of this divine revelation. Mary was created, chosen and asked for the special purpose of being the Mother of God. Catholics do not worship Mary but venerate her for who she is and ask for her intercession and prayers.Ok, I don't expect Catholic mysticism to penetrate your tribal barriers but..(con )

  • @grig60 Hello. "God is a God of the Living". Mary and the saints are dead. They know nothing until the resurrection of the dead which hasn't happened yet. Christ is our only Intercessor. Pray to Him.

  • @johnthreesixteen316 Well, we're sure going to be cramped for space on that day, especially with you and your zombies lurching around. Perhaps you could get a job herding the evil Catholics into Satan's sauna.

  • @johnthreesixteen316 I think the impression is given that you and your compatriots are out to "rescue" Catholics from the error of their ways. But what you are really doing is harassing people simply for their faith. Your ulterior motive serves a sinister purpose so I suggest you take your bag of party tricks & return to whatever crypt you crept out of and consort with your fellow zombies. PAX "friend".

  • @grig60 Hello friend. Christ wasn't popular with the message He brought forth either. It's a message people still don't want to hear 2000 years later. Christians are trying to bring the truth of Christ's sacrifice on the cross for our sins to those who live in the darkness of man-made traditions.

  • @johnthreesixteen316 Thank you for clarifying matters. The reason why you harass Catholics is for their own good! Wow. Heard that line from the bolsheviks when they were desecrating chruches, liquidating priests and nuns, and herding those who "live in darkness" into the gulags. Glad to have a "friend" like you. You're not planning on starting your own Jones Town by any chance?

  • @grig60 Hello friend. I'm just spreading the same message Christ was spit on for. The same message which put His apostles in their graves. The same message which caused the death of millions of Bible believers at the hands of the Church of Rome over the centuries.

  • @johnthreesixteen316 Deaths of millions of Bible believers at the hands of the Church of Rome? You have hard statistics on that I take it? I know why Christ was spat upon and it's the same venom you're spitting on the "Church of Rome" . There's plenty of atheist and Satanic sites on the net. Go pick on them!

  • Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Revelation 15:4 says, Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? For thou only art holy." Romans 3:10 says, There is none righteous, no, not one."

  • I think the voice is female. But in the good ol' days it would of been male soprano It's truly beautiful. Thanks.

  • los que entendemos latin disfrutamos mucho estos cantos gracias

  • This is very beautiful! Thanks so much!

  • This is absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much.

  • Thanks for this video! It's beautiful!

  • Absolutely beautiful! I'm sorry, but are the vocals male?

  • @grig60 I'm not sure, but the timbre of the voice makes it very possible

  • @virumdei I think the vocals are female. A little high pitched for male. Do you know when the music was composed?

  • @grig60 The music is from the mid to late 14th century I believe. As for the vocals, they may either be female, or boy soprano, or contra alto, I'm really not sure which.

  • @grig60

Maria Matrem Virgine, fro the Libre Vermell A collection of songs for The Belessed Virgin Mary of Montserrat

  • @celticboy1950 That's a shame. The Bible says in Acts4:12. "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

  • @kiwichristian2009 Er, don't quite understand what your'e getting at. I am somewhat connected with the English Catholic church, in an purely academic capacity if that answers your comment. Bless you.

  • Pray for us, blessed Holy Mother, and save us for reaching the glory of see your Son.
