Fags, Douchebags, fuckheads. How bout you kats go back to what you know better to do, like dub step, and make fun of their shitty music. That or hip hop, cause all you college kids like hip hop. You guys are fuckin queers
No these guys are not the Real Deal ... But you have to give them credit for doing it pretty dog-gone good ... I'm glad they like the Great Old Rockin' Stuff ...even though they are Not Original Artists ... Copy is the greatest form of Flattery. True, I felt Tricked when my Hero's were not there, it was Wrong to make people Think they were going to see a ''Never before seen Session'' I Was Disappointed Too. It Was Falsely Presented, But I Enjoyed Seeing It.
@1wolfiesLady no, it's not good, if it isn't the originals, Elvis Presley,Jerry Lee Lewis,Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash then forget it. Because that is the one and ONLY Million Dollar Quartet.
This is good but there is just something missing. I guess that something is the souls that made the originals so special that they make shows about them. The world lost a lot when these men were gone. I had the pleasure of seeing them on stage at the Municipal Auditorium in Topeka when I was a youngster. I have the program so I guess I'll drag it out and see for sure what year it was. I was fortunate enough to have a mother who was nutsy about them and let me go with her.
@sr71ablackbird easy there, killer. this show is an homage to 4 of the greatest legends of all time. the actors are NOT cheap posers in Party City costumes on the streets of las vegas. they're true talents on BROADWAY, even though they're portraying other people. give them due credit.
@ladyspats09 i'll give them due credit when they have johnny cash, jerry lee lewis, carl perkins and elvis presley on there, the original `million dollar quartet', what does jerry lee lewis is still performing, what does he have to say about this ? until then, NO SUCH LUCK !!!!
@sr71ablackbird of course he does. it's written in the playbill. if jerry lee (or any of these guys) had a problem with being portrayed on broadway or having his songs reproduced, the show would have been sued and shut down. believe it or not, broadway producers actually follow copyright laws sometimes.
@sr71ablackbird i don't know, i'm not a lawyer...are you? I'm just a fan of the show, but you're awfully passionate about their rights as performers, which is great. but I don't know where you come off jumping down a show's legal throat just because you want to see "the real" johnny cash and company. if you're into that, cool. go buy tickets to see them perform. and for those that are no longer living.... Go See Million Dollar Quartet and reminisce in their music. that's my point.
@sr71ablackbird Please stop clogging my inbox with information I already know. Get your ass into law school or the music watermarking business if you actually care about intellectual property rights, which I doubt. It's clear that you're more intent on having the final typewritten word.
@ladyspats09 if you know or claimed you knew of anything of such sort, why did you not mention it earlier ? as for the intellectual property rights, you have absolutely NO idea as to how i feel about it. when it abounds to the original artists, there is NO room for fakery or copycats, too many of them exist today & are nothing more than posers that feed off everyone. i could care less if i had the last word on any damned thing !!!!
@suburbanindie I am taking about the original, the ones before you and i were even a thought in our ma's belllies and i'm almost 43, kiddo, I'm talking about Elvis Presley,Jerry Lee Lewis,Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash THE ORIGINAL ONES !!!!, not this crap.
Jeez the lad who does Elvis needs a bit more study!!! Elvis didnt drag every middle word or letter out!!!!! sack him get me im fookin great an dont drawl every o!!!!!!!!!!!!
i've been to a lot of musicals in my 18 years and this show at the apollo was easily the best i have ever seen!!! the chicago cast sure can wail every part is crazy good keep up the good work!!!!
I've seen the Broadway show twice - once with my son and last night with my wife. Both came out with a lot of smiles on their faces as did everyone who saw them. Before you start talking down about these guys you better go see what it's all about. Otherwise go listen to the rest of the c..p that's passing for music these days.
@FoxifiedNutjob you sure as hell hit that nail on the head, if it does NOT have the real originals in it, i don't want to see the damned thing. I don't believe that anyone wants fakerey
Contrived and planned, this sucks. You can find a million Jerry lee, Elvis impersonators on youtube. This isnt any different. These guys stole the name "Million Dollar Quartet" and are banking on people's ignorance. The magic that happened in Sun Records between Jerry, Elvis and Johnny was on accident. They were just horsin' around. It wasn't planned, they just happened to all be there and Sam just happened to record it. It was magic that to this day cannot be recreated no matter how contrived.
Levi was the best, live, this past November. Versatile, pulsing with energy. The understudy for Johnny Cash nailed the voice. Elvis impersonator missed the nuances--voice and baby face--but worked awfully hard. Rob Lyons really fine. The last ten minutes were beyond fabulous.
why do they make it seem like its a big deal that it is "NEVER BEFORE SEEN RECORDING SESSION?".....this isnt a big deal at all. apparently it's a broadway show or something? get real.
Damn, what's with all the hatin'? You'd think people were watch Phantom of the Oprah from all that animosity. I saw it 2 weeks back and it was awesome and my opinion is the only one that matters, so there!
they used to call Johnny Cash "Captain Decibel" for his amazingly loud pipes, even at low registers; compared to the other two singers, this guy doesn't sound like his voice pushes very much?
rickety piano?!?!?! The keyboard cover comes down at 2:03 - WTF? The guy does a good job on the recovery though. I wonder why they didn't use the actual mix underneath the video footage?
THE JERRY LEWIS WASN'T BAD AT ALL COULDN'T HEAR JOHNNY CASH AND THAT'S ALL I REALLY PAID ANY ATTENTION TO EXCEPT I DIDN'T SEE ELVIS

There is nothing wrong with covering other people's music. It's not the original, but they did a fine job.

The majority of these songs came after Elvis signed for RCA.... !!!!
