  • I remember reading these books when I was little. They are so addicting.

  • If theres no one out there, than what's that noise?

  • :)

  • Great books, i have read them all best books ever !!! :) <3 <3 <3

  • The world is quiet here.

  • perfectly encompasses the whole book. i love it.

  • What does he say when he gets to The Wide Window? All I hear is "mumble mumble mumble leeches that came next."

I love these books, there were some things in The End I didn't like, but overall these were so much fun to read.

    The world is quiet here.

  • I used to be a fan of this series. But all because of the last book, I'm not anymore.

  • @Jock21000 Yeah... I was highly disappointed by the books 7,8,9,12,and 13

  • omg how do u make a video like that

  • cool, im on book 10!

  • @BlueSkullz101 im on the 12

  • What actually happened to them in the last book.

  • what is the last song called?

  • @Seophiee "Dreary, Dreary" by The Gothic Archies, from "The Tragic Treasury." They did songs for the entire series.

  • Tim burton should direct this movie...

  • God i love these books.<3

  • I really can't see this the same way after I realized this was narrated by Tim Curry.

  • This is the EXACT SAME VOICE that I read every single narrated part of the books in. That's exactly how I thought Lemony Snicket would sound. Epic

  • he should have written more i mean where does the boat take them

  • @chunkeerobot in beatrices letters it says that the beatrice(the boat) sank

  • @fuzzyfurfriend220 And, in order to stay incognito, he faked his death and his fiancee and true love marry Mr. Baudelaire instead, thinking he was, in fact, dead.

  • "Wouldn't you rather spend the next 100 seconds frolicking on a pony?"

-The pony goes up in flames-

  • I love these books.

  • Tim Curry is funny in this!!!!! : D

  • oh my god, it's Tim Currey's voice!

  • I've read all thirteen books and..spoiler alert...there is a happy ending!

  • @jazzykid1 *laughs*

  • @jazzykid1 Show me to it, because I read them all and still can't see it.

  • @ggc74 I quote "It depends on how you look at it." Olaf died. They lived on the island for a year, and then left. I think it wasn't a sad ending.

  • lemony only wanted to tell people about the things that count olaf did and all his acomplices

  • i first started reading these books 6 years ago with my parents and i loved them more than anything, until now i'd forgetten about them. im curently rereading and rediscovering my love for this series and im definetly planning on reading them to my own children someday.

thank you lemony snicket for everything<3 <3

  • @15statan How could anyone FORGET A Series Of Unfortunate Events?

  • Ive read all the books! There amazing and worth reading

  • have you ever found this out? there is always a picture at the end of each book and the picture gives you a hint of what the next book would be. for example, at the end of the 1st book there is a snake in the picture and the next book is The REPTILE Room. get it?

  • @kurisuteru011 Okay, not to be rude. But I figured that out a LONG time ago, practically after reading the first book.

  • @NancyDrewSuperFan1 sorry . . . but hey are you kind of suspicious on count olaf's behavior? i think he's my fave character in the books because he's very mysterious. well for me he's mysterious . . . i dont know 'bout you guys

  • @kurisuteru011 I have no idea what you are talking about.

  • I read all 13 books. And i found 2 typos. =p it's not "eybrow" is it? And a sentence mistake in book 8. tsh tsh. i tried to mail handler. but i got a crappy autoreply shite. tsh. shame on you

  • God dammit, I miss those times where you just got the book and you straight away look at the illustrations in the chapters ahead to see possibly what it represents, and it gave you that weird thrill of wanting to find out very badly.

  • @Seguris Oh my god I did the exact same thing.

  • anyway. gotta LOVE love those illustrations.

  • Wow.... Thats all i got to say. Wow. This video is awesome, but it seriously gave me a headache afterwards...

  • God blesses you good boy/girl

does the movie covered them all?

  • @thecfm007 no only 1, 2, and 3

  • Now I don't have to waste any more time reading the series.

  • i love these books

  • These were exeptionally good books

  • i read all of the books :D

  • this movie is very stressful, that's why i like it :)

  • 0:55 - 1:34 The Austere Academy much??? No offense but I like that book because that is the book that brought me here :) To remember that book, I always listen to "Hello Goodbye" by The Beatles or in the Glee version. I JUST LOVE THAT BOOK BUT HATE THE ENDING

  • I was reading them but then stopped because they were so sad :'( I should read them again!

  • the most realistic books ever

  • I LOVED these books!! read everysingle one of these books back in elementary school... If you didn't you were such a loser... Hahaha

  • Lemony Snicket rocks!!! read the books

  • i love sunny language.i hate esme squalor . i like jerome squalor. i like uncle monty, and aunt josephine and hector.

  • they are the best books in the hole world. i am at the hostile hospital and i cant wait to finish the series .

i have a question. i looked in the grim grotto and saw that quigley quagmire is alive is it true.???

  • @AdinutzaPopFashion Yupp, he survived the fire in his home by hiding under a trapdoor that lead to montgomery's house, from there he made his way to the mill and a few other places looking for his other two triplets untill he meets the baudelaires in the tenth book, halfway up a mountain. Keep reading, I'm 15 and haven't read them in about four years so my memory is hazy but they're amazing books.

  • Just finished the series. Best book series ever! But i wish the quagmires lived. I hope the baulderlairs lived and got back to civilization.

  • @EvmanX

    Thanks for spoiling it! >:(

    Jerk

Also as I write this I am on the eighth book.

  • These are amazing, no matter your age. I read them when they first cam out - a long time ago - and they are just as good today; i also hear that Lemony Snicket/Daniel Handler will be releasing a new series soon, although, not about the Baudelaire's, im sure they will be amazing.

  • i read all of them and it sums it up well hahahaha excellent

  • Right now im reading book #2 and here is a funny thing it says in it " If only Uncle Monty knew what we know. Violet said ,But Uncle Monty doesn't know what we know and Stephano ( Count Olaf's fake name) knows that he doesn't know what we know." " I know" Klaus said. LOL!

  • What are the name of all the books & in order plz (:

  • @9308pink You could always google it.

  • @9308pink The Bad Beginning, The Reptile Room, The Wide Window, The Miserable Mill, The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator, The Vile Village, The Hostile Hospital, The Carnivorous Carnival, The Slippery Slope, The Grim Grotto, The Penultimate Peril, The End

  • The whole time I was like, "Come on, Tim Curry!! [Insert how many seconds here] left!!!" Watched this several years ago, still brilliant now.

  • huh

  • 13 books?

  • @xIc33CrYsTaLx I know I thought that it was only 10!!

  • Phenomenal book series!! More brilliant than the Twilight bullocks kids are reading nowadays.

  • @emilykbisignano DEFFINETLY!!!. :D

  • im on book 5

  • @videotakermaker i just finished book 4 can't wait to get started on 5. :)

  • @beauty4god12 im on book 7 now

  • @videotakermaker What part are you at, I just started the 8th one, I read 2-6 over winter break, lol!! OBSESSED

  • @Russelley1234 Im on book 9

  • the end sucked

  • @garrettzkool63 why you say that

  • @dupop1 i didnt think there was much of a resolution. they were still just stranded alone with no future

  • it just encompasses the essence of all the books in 2 minutes

    brilliant and nothing but it

  • @TalonIIV ikr

  • The End sucks, yeah i typed it, the end does suck and you know it

  • omg i almost cried after reading ASOUE 12, i mean Dewey died, the hotel burned down, omg im gonna cry again

  • @NancyDrewSuperFan1 Yeah I can't believe the way they killed him and his manner of dying. I mean, a minature harpoon rickechying through the lobby, hitting Dewey and all he does is gasp as opposed to letting out a blood-curtling scream? That was one of the many moments in the series where I found it difficult to suspend my disbelief.

  • @seanB410 Right? After I got over my disbelief, I thought "Wait....how could someone be shot with a harpoon (Of all things) and simply gasp and stagger backwards into a pond, before sinking and drowning?" It's a rare chance that it missed his heart, and anything else beneficial to his health, and even if it did, he still drowned even if the wound didn't kill him. The only reason I can think of for ending it this way is so that he would float back down to the replica Hotel, further illustrating

  • @NancyDrewSuperFan1 that the secret, "died with him". Which is cliche on a number of levels.

  • 1:13 - TCB? any conection with the other triangules in the other videos?

  • @LuizConatti It means two named Beatrice

  • The books are awesome, the movie was cool, this is great, only wish i could've said the same thing about that really bad movie-licensed game.

  • omg! i never this was tim curry! i love rhps and asoue!

  • I love this series

  • HA HA 32 SECONDS TOO LONG!

  • i wondor if they sped up his voice here?

  • im reading the 3rd book at the moment :) loving them so far, loved the movie.

  • book 14 is in book 13 as a sorta chapter and sorta fake book.

  • hmm now i'm reading the 8th book lemony snicket the hostile hospital hah

  • And lunch.

  • Tim Curry + Lemony Snicket = PURE GENIUS

  • Comment removed

  • series of unfortunate events are the best series sad im on the 10nth book cant wait till i finish

  • this is way over 120 seconds.

  • @Chrix555101 Not when you take into account the introduction and credits. The summary doesn't start until 0:17 and ends at 2:05

  • SPOILER ALERT

Has anyone else noticed the poem hidden in book 14? I've translated it and it turns out it's from a poem by Edgar Allen Poe. Anyone have any ideas why it's there?

  • @kerributterfly17 Book 14? Poem? What?! Where!?

  • @kerributterfly17 It's not by Edgar Allen Poe...you are dreadfully mistaken.

It's by the poet Charles Baudelaire and it's called 'Le Voyage.'

Make a bit more sense now?

  • @onyekachi93 really? i need to look in the book again and read it. and if your wondering, i have read all 13 books and i remember a number of things [though some others are out of my memory wich i will need to re-read to remember again]

  • @thegrief13 It's always such a joy to reread such complex series like ASoUE because you find new things each time through.

The poem is right after the chapter fourteen title page.

  • @kerributterfly17 theres only 13 books

  • Theres 13 books genius

  • @raran44 And the book hidden in The End, called Chapter Fourteen.

  • @raran44 this came from the website.

  • Harry potter and and a series of unfortunate events are awesome series

  • i`m on book 12

  • is this the same narrator that did hitchhikers guide to the galaxy?

  • @BlackHawkGaming No, that was Stephen Fry.

  • @BlackHawkGaming Tim Curry, who narrates the audiobooks because the real Lemony Snicket-you know.

  • @kyatto2311 i don't know what you mean...what happened to the "REAL" Lemony Snicket =/ I'm not a big fan of this book series so I don't pay attention to this kind of stuff

  • @BlackHawkGaming In the books, prior to the children being born, Lemony Snicket was unjustly accused of arson and murder, and is currently on the run, which is why we never see his true face; after all, someone would probably show the face to the police, and they'd find him faster than you can say, "Daniel Handler."

  • Tim Curry FTFW!!!

  • TIM MOTHA HUMPIN CURRY !!!! PERFECT

  • i adore the books <3

  • oh my god. that was amazing! :D

  • I'm on book 9 I guess!

In Holland there not so popular so it took one year for 2 translations! I'm 15 but those books are really the best! :D

  • hehehehehe Im rereading them

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I just laughed so hard, I knocked my brain loose :DDDD

  • I am on book 10

  • "....NOT covered by their medical insurance!" Tim Curry, he sounds like Stephen Fry. Ahhh lovely.

  • Tim Curry, hell ya.

  • The books are beautifully written and are very witty. They're the only series I've read and completed so far, and are my favorite :)

  • awesome cant wait for austere academy

  • Tim Curry narrated the game, too.

  • i adore the narrator's voice

  • oh wow he toast my brain off X.X

  • There's 13 books, genius.

  • @raran44

dude look when this video is made 2006!!

the end didnt even come out yet

  • "wouldn't you rather spend that time rinding a pony?" (pony bursts into flames)

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL!

  • Is that tim curry??

  • it stands for a lot of things because the organization of VFD uses things with those initials. the actual organization is Volunteer Fire Department

  • the fire fire far more worse is hotel D burning down!

  • I thought VFD meant Volatile farting donuts, my PJ friend said that!

  • Vernacurlurly Fastened Door

  • i have thatsong

  • Tim Curry's voice is win.

  • i want all of those books

  • it sounds like the guy from the hitchikers guide to the galaxy..

  • That is GOLD!!!

  • if every english lesson hich concerned books i.e blood brothers,of mice and men etc was taught like this...then it would be soo much easier.

  • I didn't get which are the pleasant words in "Physical Education" and "fashion statement" and which are the unpleasant ones.

  • i think "education" and "fashion" are the pleasant words.

  • I read the last book. Somthing you wouldn't really expect. I mean even I (if you dont notice I'm capitilizing " I ") was suprised. The ending was okay I just wish I knew a little more of what happened after. And he forgot about Fiona and the captain and the submorine adventure thing they went on. (forgot which book that was) I actuclly rad this all in 4th grade. Pretty goood book. well bye!!

  • @DaisyOfLove1234 it was book11 the grimm grotto. i got the whole set for christmas a while back and i've read each one 5 times. ive read the twilight series even more

  • i hate how the movie stopped at 3

  • It didn't stop at three, exactly. It rewrote the first three to have a completely different plot.

  • Genius review! There, done in 2 seconds. :)

  • I ve read the books and I really liked them but I was a bit disappointed at the end...it leaves you with so many gaps and questions...i expected something more from the writer...very nice video btw...

  • The small boat that Violet, Klaus and Sunny were on sank. Either they died during the wreckage or they were picked up by The Great Unknown (giant question mark shown at the end of the last book). The dang author doesnt say exactly what happened to them.

  • snakes... lions... the number 13... symbol of one eye.... secret societies.... cant be a coincidence that they are all symbols of the illuminati?

  • whats the illuminati?

  • read angels and demons and u will understand

  • Illuminati....?

  • Comment removed

  • I'm gonna pass down the books to my son

  • Good Gravy, I love Tim Curry.

  • it's Jim Carrey moron

  • The narrator IS Tim Curry, half-wit.
