I have a newer version of this video on the DVD that Med-El sent me. The animations are similar, but the people scenes are different and they show the new OPUS and OPUS2 processors and the newer implanted devices too.
As far as I know, the cochlear implant help if your nerve works. We know the cochlear implant does not work at all in cases where people does not have nerve, but those cases are very rare.
In my son's case, his nerves works well, and therefore can hear in both ears so quiet sounds like 30DB with the implant. Without them, he starts hearing only sound higher than 110 DB.
Is it possible to get a cochlear transplant?

Does cochlear implant help those born with nerve deafness hear like a hearing person does without relying on lipreading and closed captionings?
