A good effort by Mick-and the Cello goes well, but when you listen to Ninas' rendering you know that is someone who knows what a broken heart feels like!

It doesnt always have to be "real" , you know. It can also be classical and emotionally clean. When you yourself have had your heart broken, the last thing you want is to feel what others feel when they've had their heart broken; your own experience and memory are more important. Thats why the song is a classic and keeps its value through time into all times.

I've heard this Cole Porter song in many versions but keep comig back to this one. It captures a quality I think the composer meant to express. I understand that this song was written for his deceased wife just after leaving her gravesight. What tender lyrics and witty tonality - major to minor. I have changed the way I play this song on the guitaras a result.

After her death and devasted by his loss he wrote this song to say good bye and remeber the love they shared.

Porter was a genius, his songs remain unreal to this day, both musically and lyrically.

Hucknall gives a very good intepretation here, too bad the pianist should play far softer, he's hammering like crazy (as he does on the album, unfortunately). But the cello brings some peace.
