"The best times are not when you're chasing after the things that you want, the best times are when you've got them, and you have no more wanting... you don't need to get things to be be free from wanting, and as a result, you're in that state [of freedom] already " Nice.
Thank you for this insightful video. I have always argued with others in buddhist circles that wisdom is needed to dispel delusions that block compassion. Compassion cannot be felt without wisdom. If that were the case, most ordinary people would feel compassion for everyone. Instead, they feel defensive and judgemental, and don't see others as themselves.
Noah is going out of his way, i.e. meditation practice, to post these videos. If you can't like them, stop complaining about whether he is reading from something or anything of that sort. Constructive criticism is the way to go, people. He is long-winded keeping in mind the spectrum of the audience. Dhamma talks are accepted in a meditative state. If you can't be patient, Buddhism can never be a part of your life irrespective of your place of birth, race etc.
when i try to meditate, rising and falling, a sensation arise like wanting to cry. I start to meditate and ending up crying. Unbearable heat occur in my chest and my heartbeat jump fast and i feel wanting to scream or going crazy and had a strong headache. Is it because I did too many bad things in the past? how to go past it?
@222hermione It depends what you're doing. Karma does not inflict suffering, it merely presents a solution to misdeeds. The sensations you speak of are usually spoken of by those who meditate on distances, as in, not inside the self. You can then pick up on the general emotional state of an entire area, I know I did. It's scary and sometimes overwhelming. Try to stay focused on yourself, then focus on others; once you understand your own pain and feelings, you'll be able to handle others too.
Question: so, if we see somebody we like, is it unhealthy to crave seeing them again? and if so, how can it then be possible to develop the feeling of liking into love, if we don't allow ourselves to like in the first place?
You're awesome !! For someone who's still stuck at the starting line, you have a way of explaining things that makes it easy to understand. I'll keep watching and keep trying.
@fueldbybeans I'm not reading from anything... I'm looking at the computer screen where my main audience is, just to see if they have any questions. I'm sorry it's a bit long-winded, I'll try to be more direct in the future.
@Globox822 He/she does live in Japan though! Im inclined to agree with him/her for this reason...sorry but.. I want from the heart AND I WANT IT NOWWWW!!!!
@yuttadhammo There's nothing to apologize for. People need to learn patience. If they find you're taking too long to get to the point, they can watch someone else's video, or make one of their own. End of discussion.

@yuttadhammo don't, i like longer videos, you speak from the hearth, so if it takes 3 hours it takes 3 hours. guy above is aggressive and inpatient.
