No, China boomed their economy. The Dalai Lama wants a society in which monks and priests rule the country in luxury while the poor starve. He wants to bring "his" country to a dark age and wants to kick all of the ethnic Chinese out of Tibet. He is racist, not for freedom, and just wants his throne back.
