Holocaust survivors might share paranoia, Vietnamese refugees might share disproportionately another type of reaction and so on and so on. DNA studies are also done to see if they can isolate what is present in people with cancer, kidney disease, dwarfism, alcoholism, liver failure, violent tendencies. If Ward speaks for all native americans and he doesn't want them to participate in these studies, it works for me. Alcoholism is 20 times higher among native americans than the general population. Suits me fine if we don't find a cure for them, they die and get the fuck out of the way.

When my grandfather left the reservation, he and his friends maintained that the only ones left there were the drunks and the lazy, to whom the Indian welfare system was easier than getting a job.
