  • This was great to watch when you bought a new color tv. Kids today don't even know what a black/white tv looks like.

  • Sunday night in America when i was a boy: Disney,Ed Sullivan,Bonanza....bedtime

  • I would LOVE to see *ALL* of the various intros of The Wonderful World of Disney/Color/Walt Disney Presents/Disneyland, etc. on YouTube. I found out recently that there were a few different intros used for The Wonderful World of Disney incarnation (as opposed to the one intro that Vault Disney used all the time).

  • This takes me back to Sunday nights with family that has passed. Wonderful childhood memories. No cable tv, no reality shows or video games, no tv filth. Just good shows and family for company.

  • This is what they need to be showing on Disney Channel instead of Wizards of waverly place, Hannah Montana, etc

  • @96gamerdude AWESOME!Don't the old shows with their intros give you goosebumps. It does me!

  • im sorry but whats this im 14 and i dont know

  • this brings back so many good memories...disney is not the same anymore T.T

  • Our neighbors had the first color TV on the block. I remember going next door to watch this every week.....and The Flinstones.

  • You know....it was "wonderful" back in the 50s and 60s. But it looks horribly dated now. I think disney should get the guys at Pixar to digitally enhance this clip. Make that hummingbird look like James Cameron filmed it with an IMAX camera. :)

  • OH MAN, as a little kid just watching and hearing this intro every Sunday night, filled me with euphoria. It was magical.

  • Didnt this inspire the World of Color water show at Disney California Adventure ?

  • By the time I was old enough to remember it. It was called The Wonderful World Of Disney.

  • Good old days of the Wonderful World of Color.

  • flashback

  • i cant see mickey, pluto, or donald!!!! where are they

  • Now, now you guys. Lets enjoy Walt Disney painting a rainbow rather than call each other fat and ugly. :D Hugs, not drugs. Nice, not lice. Fire, not haywire.

Besides, we're all pretty in our own ways. :3 Especially commentmutant. I think he just needs some Disney mc-lovin'! (even though french fries were banned from Disneyland. Fail).

  • @DarkShelby101 thats how big people talk just before they try to get their fingers into your pants. (ESPECIALLY when they start saying words like god bible jesus righteous)

  • @dynagravitomagnetic Funny how you brought sex into something totally unrelated to my comment. Silly silly user.

  • clickclackclickclack don't start we got over it so...don't start k

  • Wow! Early Hidden Mickeys (and Plutos)!

  • No Colored people in the Wonderful World of Color >:(

  • @ClickClackClickClack

    Don't. Just don't start. :/

  • There are no colored people in the wonderful world of color. i can have peace of mind here!

  • There's no Mexican, Middle-Eastern, Indian, Asian, Samoan, and even Aborigine people either but you don't see them complaining about it.

  • uhm, ok douchebag.

  • Wonderful response. You were better off just not saying anything. :/

  • I didnt ask for your input double chin.

  • Oh I get it. You must be one of them internet trolls. How adorable. Somebody who abuses the anonymity of the internet and uses a keyboard as their weapon just to entertain themselves. Go get AIDS, ya clown. XD

  • hey at least i dont look like a fat hideous loser like you. get groomed and get a haircut slob..

  • Coming from somebody as miserable, easily entertained, and socially deprived as you, that's a compliment.

  • and yes it is entertaining. go lose some weight triple chin.

  • Wait a sec! You think I'm overweight? Did you really just try to hurt my feelings OVER THE INTERNET? Hahaha. Oh no. Please don't make fun of me over the internet. I mean if you're going to insult somebody over the internet, at least put effort into it. No need to try and reflect your personal insecurities and issues on me, buddy. Trust me, I'm not overweight. But while we're giving eachother "advice", I got one for ya. Go get a life.

    I hope you get Hepatitis A, B, C.

  • I await another whimsical, witty, and colorful response from you. Go ahead, puppet. Dance. Reply as your master tells you to do. Blind 10-year olds troll better than you.

  • lol it aint bothering me, i know im not as pathetic as you. nor as ugly. nobody is...

  • I tell you to dance and you do so as expected. Good, puppet. Good.

Keep trying to reflect your problems on to me, kid. It's doing wonders for ya. ;)

  • the ugly man types. i respond.

  • C'mon, kid. Change it up. You've been desperately playing the Ugly card too much. Not like I care what some faceless goon who I'll never run into in REAL LIFE has to say about me on the internet. At least throw out a Yo Momma joke or something. You're starting to bore me. XD

  • yeah, whatever you say ugly.

  • hell ya!!

  • There going to use this song in the beginning of Disney's World of Color.

  • when will the project be finished?

  • @TwilightLink77

Yeah. Although the new version sounds like some sort of pop techno music.

  • This is the intro I was looking for... thank you!! lots of memories comes to me with it.

  • the full version was only used on the premiere on 9/24/61. i videotaped it about 9 years ago when this show was a part o the Vault Disney block on the Disney channel. i know the Disney channel will never bring it back and i still hold out a faint hope that that there will be a Vault Disney cable channel someday, well i can dream, can't i ??????

  • Yes you can and keep dreaming. As long an actor gentleman has about 10% equity in the company and continues to push his "agenda" in programming, you will see little of the classic programming from the 1960's and before on the Disney channel The new title will be Disney stays in the Vault.

  • Does anyone have the FULL theme. I think some words were: ...Of people like u & like me. The kingdoms of magic & science the marvelous story or art. The world or romance, of music & dance. This world where we each play a part... The miracle of imagination. The wonders of earth, sea, & sky... Can't remember all the words. ...In the funny world, the sunny world. The wonderful world of color.....

  • The full song used to be here on YouTube but it was pulled off due to a violation of some kind. I miss it too.

  • Thank you. Glad to know someone remembers! Wish I could have seen it when it was on You Tube! Thanks for responding!

  • This intro was great, even in "Living Black and White"!

  • Yes, every Sunday night when I was a kid. It was wonderful.

  • And after that it was Bonanza or Ed Sullivan.

  • No Bonanza or Ed Sullivan for me. I had to go to bed after that. : (

  • My Mom and dad were pretty cool on Sunday nights and let me and my brothers stay up till 10PM. most of us would knock out though on the floor and couch. Great days those were with all of us together in one place. I miss those days.

  • brings back soo many happy memories ..thanks

  • 8:30 PM EST Every Sunday on NBC. Some of us never forgot.

  • @choirboyfromhell Yep Right after AFL double headers

  • @choirboyfromhell In the 1980's they were aired on syndication on Saturday mornings.

  • in ref to the comment: "first two seconds into the kaleidoscope background, you can see mickey and pluto" you can also see Donald Duck time stamp 21 seconds

  • they made fun of this intro in a episode of animaniacs saying:

the world is a carousel of walnuts,

    chewy chewy walnuts,

    the wonderful world of walnuts.

  • I just adore this intro. I remember it well. Every Sunday night we would gather 'round the TV set to watch Disney. Thanks for the memory.

  • i remember seeing this on walt disney presents on disney channel

  • omg this takes me back!

  • it's so great but i need the version "latina" i'm of venezuela.

gracias soy venezolana podrias subir la version mexicana para mis recuerdos esta esta fabulosa x fa

  • Well, Ed devoted an entire hour to Walt on "TOAST OF THE TOWN" {"The Walt Disney Story"} in 1953, and I'm sure they were good friends, 'Home', despite their networks' rivalry in scheduling their shows opposite each other during the '60s.....

  • Around 8pm(et), Ed usually had more viewers than Walt during most of the '60s, although occasionally, both were upstaged by ABC's "THE FBI" at 8.....

  • I know that! Thanks for the info on the Sullivan Vs. Disney competition. I guess they're close friends, you know Walt Disney and Ed Sullivan, together.

  • Actually, 'Home', Ed Sullivan was on Sunday nights at 8pm(et) on CBS from April 1949 through July 1971, although the show occasionally expanded to 90 minutes [usually 8-9:30pm]. "WALT DISNEY'S WONDERFUL WORLD OF COLOR" was on Sundays at 7:30pm(et) on NBC from September 1961 through September 1969 {then, as "THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY" from '69 through '75 in the same time period}. The network deliberately scheduled his show to appear opposite the first half of Sullivan's at the time.

  • As you probably know, this show ran from 1961 until 1969 where it was renamed "The Wonderful World of Disney". It was usually on Sunday nights at 7:30 PM on NBC. This was the year that this show was trying to battle out with CBS where "The Ed Sullivan Show" was on the same night at 7:00 PM a half hour prior to the show which was on a different network. Ed Sullivan was the #1 show on CBS on Sunday nights. This was just a crossover between those two networks.

  • If I'm trying to do some research, Ed Sullivan came first at 7:00 PM on CBS, that was a half hour prior to the "Wonderful World of Color" which was on NBC at 7:30 PM. Both of these shows are on Sunday nights on two different networks on the same night. Imagine, if you're in the NYC area since the 60's, WCBS-TV (channel 2) had Ed Sullivan on, and WNBC-TV (channel 4) had Disney on. Can't you see the difference?

  • If I ever wonder, pretend when it was 1964 where the Beatles made their first network TV appearance on Ed Sullivan, someone was watching Disney, where people was shouting that the Beatles are on another show, maybe someone changed the channel for that. That would bring Ed Sullivan big numbers since it was a Sunday night show. Disney went pretty close to the ratings.

  • yay!! i saw them...the three of them donald, mickey and pluto lol

  • I see Donald too!

  • where??

  • I saw them!

  • Donald too

  • oh! ha!

  • ;) lol

  • @freedogshampoo Yeah, Donald is clearly visible, too.

  • I only saw mickey

  • Heh, I saw them...those sneaky bastards :P
