WOW. Played through about half of Chapter 1 this evening. This game is just way more fun than I expected it to be. One of the few rare games that actually really challenges your intellect and critical thinking skills, as well as involving timing action. I'm going to be really sad when I beat the game. =( LOL.
As I've been playing throughout the various puzzles, a majority of them seem to have a problem... in that if you "fiddle around" enough, you can find the path very quickly.
Wow, I thought I was the only person who liked this game! What's really neat is that it feels tense, even though generally things are moving fairly slowly.
hahah, I remember seeing this game mentioned on some Indie site few years ago.
Thought it looked great went on youtube to see it in action, and I remember thinking that the music was really reminiscent of the Heroes 3 soundtrack.
I became so obsessed with finding my Heroes 3 disk that I completely forgot about Obulis, until now.
Thank you for reminding me, lol
Now that I've had a couple of years to think about it, and watched this review, it's definitely a buy :P
If you are unsure about the game, try the flash spinoff civiballs. It's basically the same thing with roughly 60 or so levels counting the whole series. Personally, I did not like civiballs, so I'm gonna pass. I have to agree with him though that it is annoying to get one precision shot right, and then fail another, forcing you to restart.
I bought the game a while back through some pack, and I liked it, but I think that the game is a bit.... Shallow?
I liked it, but It's a bit -too- simple at times. Also, it lacks important features for me such as the option to change volume levels and fullscreen/windowed mode.
Wanted to tell you this before, can you somehow increase the audio volume of your videos in general? It's getting ridiculous, I need to crank up both the YouTube volume and the headphones volume to the max, to hear you just below desired volume...
@antisocialfatman It's about the loudness of the video compared to everything else on YouTube. If you listen to this review and then to v=KxTxn0uU3VQ (a random video on the right by some guy), you should see what I mean.
For maximal point across getting, run both videos simultaneously.
@MaurogDark yeah i second that, great videos but if you could crank up your voice volume it would be awesome.... it blends a little too much with the background game music (maybe i notice that because english is not my native language)

I quite enjoyed this game when I bought it earlier last year. I'm also one of those 8% of players that have completed the entire thing.

I find it strange that people are complaining about the audio in general.
Everything came through just fine 'ere.

Looks like a lot of fun. achievements seem to lend themselves a little better toward puzzle type games.

@MaurogDark I don't know what to tell you; I have my speaker volume on 1/4 and that's loud.
I will look into it but I doubt i can make them any louder.

Great review, though I felt the games audio was a little louder than your voice, just a heads up.
LiamNeesonsDick 1 year ago 4
@LiamNeesonsDick Yeah, I had to do that because there's so much background hum. I just can't get rid of it with this crappy integrated soundcard.
