  • this is an amazing ride

  • Back in the day, each car only used one safety bar, locked over the laps of both riders at about mid-thigh. When I was a kid in the 80s, I felt like I had to hold onto the bar to keep from slipping out. I got a LOT of air during the drops. Even when I last rode it in 1999, a fully grown man at 6'1" and (then) 190 lbs, I would still get a little bit of that thrilling feeling of threat, and a bruise or two to boot. I've never ridden another coaster that was as fun as The Wild One was.

  • dats my fav ride

  • Is this the thurderball whatever it's call it's like it

  • The 1st rollercoaster I ever rode all thanks to my brother who tricked me into riding it now I love roller coasters

  • lol where is the is the big drop

  • this is the longest fucking ride ever

  • Oh my god this brings back SO many memories! Thank you for posting this! I remember riding this as a kid and my father remembers riding it when he was a kid! I do miss Paragon Park, I'll head down there next time I head to dc!

  • omg i went on it and its SO COOL! im only 9 and i went with my friend nancy shes 11 year old and it was THE BEST well, first coster! TW1 ROCKS!

  • This is a good "warm-up" rollercoaster. Its not that thrilling but warms you up for the more thrilling ones like jokers jonx or the superman. But this ride is very long, it goes through the whole park!

  • so so !!

  • I LOVE IT sOOO MANY MEMORIES OF PARAGON PARK AND NANTASKET. i went there as a chid and took my kids there, now my grandson . Beautiful memories.

  • this ride is the best wood track rollercoster ever!!!!!!

  • This is like megagobia

  • This prety much like megafobia

  • I went on his ride for the first time on Monday and the experience was like nothing I had ever experienced before. I was my first time on a real roller coaster and I don't know if I would go on it again.

  • is this still there cause i might be goin there in a few weeks

  • is six flags and darien lake the same thing buffalo,NY

  • How are rollercoasters moved to different parks???

  • I was on that today! So much fun

  • looking back at this after i rode roar this ride is nothing man

  • @xtremegopher omg natwing is a fucking crazy ass ride

  • is it possible for the workers to speed up the rides? because i went yesterday and i felt like this and roar were ten times faster like on turns we were going full speed we never slowed down. i have been on a lot of wood roller coasters and never have been this fast, it was fun but very fast

  • i was laughing on this ride th whole time

  • haha i rememeber me and my friend were irritated cause the people in line were annoying and it was taking too long and we thought the ride was gonna suck but it was like really fun neither of us expected that so we were totalyl pwnd.

  • most under rated wooden coaster ever. Especially because it was built in 1917.

  • hey u can see the two face!!!!! that is the two face right? the one that u see towards the end when u turn?

  • My first tide ever last year(im 12 turning 13) so I was frigin scared but this year Ima try my luck with all the rides except mind eraser that's scary.drew Freeman muddle school feild trip may 8 wooo.

  • @pokemonXnarutoNEO Mind Eraser is nothing compared to batwing...

  • @pokemonXnarutoNEO I think that Superman is way more scary the The Mind eraser, even though I have never been on Superman, but i have been on mind eraser and it is not that scary. (BTW I am a 13 year old girl who is scared of rollercoasters.)

  • First one i ever rode ... Paragon park Hull mass in the 70s

  • This ride still got it!!

I got on it few months back after not being on it for a LONG time. I know about this ride back when Six Flags was called Adventure World. (Wild World for others!) My opinion, this video doesn't capture all of it's essence, but Grandpa still got it as I like to say!!!

Good air time and crazy dips and turns!! I couldn't believe it after so long!! LOLOL!!

  • wow, i wanted to take my cam on, but they wouldn't let me!

  • i love this ride!

  • I LOVE THAT ONE!!! It's my favorite!

  • LOVE this ride. By far the best wooden coaster I've ever been on. Six flags america was amazing!

  • my first roller coaster. i grew up at his park

  • i luv this ride and i hate roller coasters but now i luv em

  • When you went up that lift hill at night overlooking the ocean at Nantasket Beach it was breathtaking. It also seemed like it took forever to reach the top of the lift hill! But when you did, the rest was all airtime and banging into the person beside you if you sat in the very rear car. This coaster when it was at Paragon {Paragone} Park was the best in the country. It was best to ride it after a good rain as well. Those memories will never be forgotten. Thanks for the post, Rob/Boston

  • which ride is faster and more intense this one or roar?

  • ROAR in my opinion.

  • The Wild One IS NOT AT SIXFLAGS America IT IS AT SIX FLAGS Six Flags America, Baltimore/Washington, DC ITS NOT american eagle BUT IS AT Six Flags Great America, Chicago

  • that ride looks sooo weak....

  • i agree superman is better

  • you cant even compare a wooden to a steel.

  • godd, this is the best ride ever.

  • superman is the best ride

  • the first time i went on this i kept going up and down off of my seat on the hilly parts. lol but it was awesome!

  • Great coaster and great memories. I grew up near Nantasket and loved the coaster. I took a trip to Maryland in the 90's just to ride it again. It's good to see this video, it brings back a lot of memories of good times.

  • The drop seems so much longer in real life

  • It seems so sad to see this roller coaster in another part of the country. This used to be in my hometown of Hull, MA. But I'm glad our old friend is still alive and well.

  • isnt this american eagle

  • Thw wild one is awesome, but i went on it to many times kinda got boring =/

  • I loved this ride when I was a kid. I grew up in Boston and would go to Paragon park in Hull, MA every weekend and I remember this ride very well.

  • talking to volcomst0n3, it didn't reply right, great vid

  • its called colossus goddamnit

  • Wrong coaster you fucking dumbass.

  • ur a dumbass so shut up

  • I'm not the one who is making a fool out of myself for calling out false info.

  • @Thrubee69 What do you mean the wrong coaster. That is the Wild One at Six Flags America.

  • sorry, i don't mean to be an ass but, YOU'RE AN IDIOT!

  • Are you saying this is NOT the one that was in Paragon Park in Massachusetts? Cause that one WAS called "the Wild One"

  • yes it is the same one that was moved in the 80s but when it was in MA it was called The Giant Coaster

  • when i was at SFA the wild one broke down like a gazillion times at its highest point

  • everytime i get on the wild one i feel like my boobs r coming out of my shirt!!

  • lol, oh my...

  • @REREchiqk101 you wanna go to six flags great america with me???!!!! lol

  • @REREchiqk101 I hope their not big then

  • this must be an old vid. superman and batwing arent there! (or at least i cant see them)

  • I remeber riding that thing at Paragon Park. I used to love the airtime thist had. Not shure how well it's aged though.

  • i find that ride very amusing.. i like it where it is so i can have easy access to it :)

  • i think the last part of the ride is not the same. plenty of good times on that ride at paragon park. im glad they saved it, but wish it never left home. great job at filming the ride. brought back some good memories.

  • thanks yeah they reprofiled the last part.

  • unlocktender - I think I know what you mean about the ending being different. Do you mean the circle? Then again, I think I DO remember it somehow. Or, prehaps it was part of the track that was always there - but didn't work anymore? I remember an abandoned racing car ride that was near the tail end of the coaster...

  • is this the coaster that was once at Nantasket Beach Ma and is now in Maryland?

  • yes it is

  • There was a fire back when it was in Nantasket and it damaged the last loop. Instead of repairing it they just changed the layout of the track. When they moved the coaster to Maryland they restored the coaster to the full design with the loop at the end.

  • i like that ride
