The crackling sound is the mic. I should know, I recorded it! The mic on the camera cannot handle loud sounds without crackling. The TT set up is perfect, and sounds perfect.
the crackling sound is not from the cam's mic.It started exactly when the audio initiated. I suspect the owner of this TT has the arms weight to heavy and is cactually arving the vinyl. or perhaps he's got an MC cart. going thru a stage with no MC input.

I use the Dino with only the standard PSU and find it fantastic. The Dino has so many different loading settings that is can be used with virtually any cartridge.
The Michell was one of the first turntables I saw when I got into high end audio way back in 1980. How old is the table? IF it is newer, it hasn't changed much, although I believe the one I saw back then had chrome weights
@daikuone Sorry for the late reply (8 months late!). This TT is now about 2 years old and it's design has changed very little over the years with the only modification being an improved suspension.
