Well i give dodge credit w/ the electronic sway bar disconnect, locking front and rear diffs but you cant jump a dodge or drive it 80 mph over the sand... nor can you rock crawl a raptor... 6 one way half a dozen the other man. Its all in what you want to do - me Id be happy with a ranger extended cab 4x4 stick shift w/ the FX4 level II package and some aftermarket goodies for the woodsy trails we have in new york.

@allenorgan27 I have the 2011 crew cab raptor in black, went up a rock face jeeps were having trouble with. I took it to scout some really muddy duck hunting trails, and also went to a jump track and hit some huge jumps and didnt break anything. Not to mention the interior and exterior is much more better looking, and the rear seat has much more room and no "hump" on the floor. Raptor>Power Wagon

I test drove a black one loved it and didn't go off-road with it but its alot like driving a a semi the truck feels so much bigger than my 07 F-150 FX4 but the throttle response is Incredible the truck had very little body roll for a truck it felt similar to driving a Beemer 3 series

Tacomas had rusty frames so Toyota decided to build the Tundras with a rubber frame. Thats proof with the durability tests that have been posted on here numerous times.

You are pretty much correct about the 5.0, but the 6.2 will also make 400hp (it's in the Raptor brochure), it will just deliver it at a lower rpm and is built for higher loads for truck use.

but look at it this way, to get 400hp, they are making the engine bigger and bigger which will hamper the fuel economy. It not very sensible. Instead, they should tune the 5lt engine itself to such an extent that it produces more HP than usual 300hp.

It's a truck motor, just because it's bigger doesn't mean it will suck up more fuel, all they have to do is tune the computer right and it gets decent - good fuel economy. Besides, Ford has been doing almost everything right since 2006 so I'm sure the 6.2 will get better fuel economy.

I still expect more power from bigger engines without compromising on fuel economy, if fuel economy is a problem with petrol engines, they should try something with ultra refined, turbo charged, multijet diesel engine. Diesel = Power, probably most appropriate for trucks.

Yeah, I expect that too. What I do know about the new engine is that it's a complete truck engine, plain and simple, and puts out around 400+HP. With the diesel thing, I do agree, but they canceled the motor that was supposed to go in the F150 so they just stuck to gas instead which is fine, it saves money.

Well if you are talking about stuff like that they are going to be using the 3.5L EcoBoost motor in the 2011 F-150 that's supposed to get 15-20% better fuel economy than the V8 that's running in it right now. It should tow right around 9-10,000 lbs. So once they put that in it won't compromise on MPG's and it will have the power and capability of a V8 with the fuel economy of a V6.
