  • this my number 1 fav song in this game.

  • @swl9380 WHAT?!?!?!?!?!!?!

  • And everytime I listen to this track in my mind there are flying books in a library!!

  • I want my childhood back. ;__;

  • With the snow flake addon, for chrismass, it maskes that sound even more good.

  • loved this song! still do! wish games were like this nowadays

  • God, those fake Paintings gave me nightmares.

  • BADASS

  • This makes me want to cry it's so beautiful.

  • @Hittman305 Damn. Your kid is a toughie. This was SCARY in the 90's.

  • @PastryImplosion So, the description was no shit, back then...

I completed the game on my jailbraked Ipod touch, on an emulator (I used save stat/load state)...I only cheated for Dracula.

  • IM GOING TO KILL ANYONE WHO DISLIKES THIS MUSIC YOU ARE DIFFERENT FROM ME AND YOU SHALL SUFFER HELL DIFFERENT OPINIONS ARE SATANIC

  • @Preposterify HERETIC!!!!!!!!

  • @Preposterify HELL YAH!

  • You cannot grasp the true power of the books from hell!

  • The library stage in this game always reminded me of the part in the first Ghostbusters movie where the group comes across their first ghost; the librarian ghost.

  • How do I get this soundtrack?

  • 1 guy felt the rage of the whip of Simon Belmont.

  • my mother owned a snes as a kid, when i was around 5-7 i started playing it, I remember that i played Super mario world, F-Zero and Super castlevania 4 :D Good times, good times

  • @tommis865 Your mom is awesome and I had all those games too.

  • everytime I go to the library this song plays in my head

  • since i has a snes i gonna try get this game i could of downloaded it but i was just thinking kirby kirby kirby damn u kirby tv but at least i got kirby fun pak

  • @metalsonic641 LOL you insane man. Kirby TV influeneced you that much eh? Better to get Kirby SuperStarUltra for DS, that's the full version of 'Kirby's Fun Pak'.

  • @kdreamland but i like kirby fun pak it has kirby :P

  • @metalsonic641 Uh.....kirby superstar Ultra IS Kirby's funpak. It was released on ther DS as Kirby SuperStarUltra, and has a lot of new features. Check it out!

The Snes version was called Kirby's FunPak in the UK?

  • @kdreamland i will try and yes the uk version is fun pak

  • I hated this stage, so damn long, and I didnt enjoy the music much, which made it hell to go through, luckily, I beat it. :P

  • <3

  • @Hittman305 My brother calles me Master, that's right. Thanks to videogames.

  • this game was the best high a kid gamer could have bitch. these games now cost toooooo much and end to soon, wack shit.

  • @eez30 u can always buy a Wii, and download for few dollars, I did that. :P

  • to do to have a wnoderfull life

    1) get SNES

    2) get Super castlevania IV

    3) have a child

    4) put he/she/ them in front of the T.V

    5) give them food and water

    6) watch them become gaming gods =3

  • @TheStickdragon and make him/her a loser for life

  • @Hittman305 AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW (SAYS AWWW FOR 1 MILLION YEARS THEN DIES)

  • @Hittman305 hell yeah. start em off on the old school classics, not the ultra violent garbage first person shooters, GTA clones or open ended rpgs which seems to be 95% of what the game industry produces now.

  • @illuminatioracle

don't forget wii sports, guitar hero and shit.

    long live snes

  • @martooxxx Viva SNES!

  • @Hittman305 Awwwwwww :) i will do the same when I have kids :) have them play classic games

  • Aah, the library, where Dracula kept his books on how to use dark sorcery on the villagers of Transylvania and have them under his command.

Why didn't Simon steal one of those books and compete with him?

  • @Hitmonchan107 because he'd be no better than dracula.

  • @Hitmonchan107 actually, they were just normal books, Dracula was a big James Joyce fan

  • the best castlevania game in my opinion

  • silent hill had great actors and artists behind the camera. it is one of the best horror films ever made, in spite the first half is certainly boring.

  • @DarknessEnabled i beg to differ, but we all have our opinions.

  • silent hill pretty decent imo sure the acting was off but i feel they captered some of the things that made silent hill great.

  • sounds like a gentle giant or jethro tull song. good for my tastes!

  • Beautiful song.

  • I personally think this is one of the later level songs that's the most calming.

  • @Caristo09 I was never a big fan of The Library music as a kid. It grew on me as I got older though:>

  • @ThrobnWood really true

  • @Caristo09 it's not even a competition... it's the only calming later level song ;)

what a work of art it is too

  • @Caristo09 oh and just to add i love how they go from this calm library level/music right into the floor breaking apart and falling into the hell dungeon that is stage 8 ;)

  • @xSayPleasex This should have been called "Calm Before the Storm!"

  • this is my favorite of all the castlevania 4 songs

    also my favorite level

  • I use to play this game as a kid

Still think this music is awesome

  • piromaniac9999- I completely agree with you!!!

  • Damm another great song.

Its just so perfect in fitting this game.

Its also rather bizarre too since there are floating books and paintings that attack you

I just love it,this game has the best fucking atmosphere.

  • This isn't the Pillared Corridor peoples, it's The Library. Tell the people! Yell it out! They have a right to kn- urrgh.. :3

  • Don't know :)

  • Comment removed

  • Well anything could obviously look good when done right, but they generally turn up to be crap.

  • Hey look, a centipede!

*avoids it and moves to the right of the stage*

    *comes back and it disappears*

  • @OgnarPliskin You can kill it. 6 or 7 whips to its head should do it. But it's a waste of time, and it gives you a miserable 600 points.

  • Castlevania 4's soundtrack, save for some music and the remixes, isn't THAT memorable imo.

But, they are extremely atmospheric. Playing this game with these songs is an unique experience.

  • @NewAgeRetroGamer If CV4 can't be memorable, then SotN should be forgotten too. At least CV4 was intended to be a remake, unlike SotN who had to reuse plots and characters from Dracula X.

  • @Hitmonchan107 I am not saying that CV4 can't be memorable overall.

I said that the songs aren't memorable, but atmospheric. Simple as that. For example, it's easy find people that know Vampire Killer by heart, but it's difficult to find someone that know this one by memory.

  • @NewAgeRetroGamer maybe alot of them dont get "stuck in your head" so to say.... but they aren't forgotten also, i had instant recognition and nostalgia from this song ;p

  • @xSayPleasex yeah, you're right c:

  • ima smoke salvia to this bomb ass music

  • just the best

  • Ahh... My favorite stage in the game, soo calm, calming music, scary basement with creepy pictures from the 16th century... The music gives a strange feeling in the atmosphere that gives the thought as if the books hadn't been touched in centuries.

  • them fucking flying books al ways got me...at the end i alwayz pressed down while standing on the stairs,to fall down quick.2 get that shit overwith...love the game

  • Nothing beats Super Castlevania IV's music. Honestly, it's the most beautiful score you could ever listen to. Especially this one with it's relaxing yet deadly feeling. Thank you for reminding me of such memorable melodies I experienced during my childhood and the Snes. Thank you.

  • When it comes to video game music, I don't care how grainy it sounds, how muddy, how bad the quality is, in fact, sometimes it makes the song all the more enjoyable, like Harmony of Dissonance's music, sure, the quality was pretty bad for a GBA game, but it had an older feeling, and the music itself was amazing, I'd pick the original stuff over any remix, honestly, it just never gives you the same feeling.

  • The game was pretty amazing musically and graphically for something released in 1991.. this game was ahead of it's time!

  • I always enjoyed this level..the library with the evil orange skirt things that attack you.

  • this is good but dosen't really fit in

  • SNES sound capabilities annihilate the DS...

  • @Chal0099

    Agreed

...and it doesn't help that Castlevania music doesn't even go for this type of sound anymore. It's oddly upbeat and poppy now....

  • @MoonCrashed I know, have all 3 DS games so far but just love this and Bloodlines and the music is a big factor there.

  • @Chal0099 Are you sure you don't mean the GBA? The DS is capable of much better sound, although the actual speakers on the unit suck. However, if you listen with headphones on you can hear how truly great it sounds.

  • man i hope my SNES still works by the time i have kids. i want them to enjoy the joys of my childhood, castlevania 4, megaman X, street fighter II.

  • @Hittman305

You're letting your kids play SNES? You much be a good father :P

  • with games like this one mocking them how do modern ones justify their existence?

  • Cool

  • this was a awsome tune for the area, but, it wasnt my favorite, so i like it, but i prefer other songs on the soundtrack to this.

  • DONE BY THE STATE OF THE ART CASIO KEYBOARD!!! i miss the 90's

  • OLD SCHOOL vampires

    ftw

    D:

    they didnt shitted gleam

    ;_;

  • its weird, i love the whole soundtrack but no matter how nice the music is i still get goosebumps and im creeped out because i used to watch my dad play this game when i was a kid. great parenting there. awesome nightmares all my childhood LOL

    i love castlevania

  • When I hear this (the first 25 secs) I think of candy and all the sweet treats in the world!

  • everything about this game was a work of true

    art

  • @Spindles15

Correction: Is a work of true art. This is the best Castlevania game ever! =D

  • @Spindles15 Okay, let's hope they don't overdo a remake in an attempt to top Shadow of the Collossus... :/

  • wow this sounds like one of the Themes in Columns on Sega Genesis

  • lol...american producers don't care a shit about video games or mangas...

video games need more library theme like this one...

  • The bass in this song is fkn rediculous! I used to blast the hell out of this!

  • My favorite. Intro doesn't exist!!!

  • what do you mean with "intro doesnt exist"?

  • Em, it's a way of speech, I mean that the beginning of this theme is soo good that it couldn't possibly exist!!

  • jajaja so im gay no? o______o

  • Wouldn't "The Study" be a more appropriate name? I dunno, considering the level had bookshelves everywhere.

  • Or "The library" :P

  • beautifull stunning music by konami as always

  • The whole Music in this game is just perfectly matching with the mood. EPIC game...

    (I have a Cartridge yay!)

  • yep and this song is the library.

  • the stage with the pictures trying to grab u is pretty creppy

  • One word for the OST of this Game: EPIC !

  • werd.

  • Please no Castlevania movie. Movies based on video games usually end up sucking.

  • If done right, a castlevania movie could be pretty sick.

That's just my opinion though and the movie wouldn't be done right most likely.

  • Just about every video game movie had the chance to be sick as hell. Usually, the people behind the creation of the games don't work on the movies at all, which tends to lead to their downfall. Like, if Shigeru Miyamoto was the director of the Mario movie, it would have been the shit.

  • I agree. But a lot of video games/ Tv Shows turned into movies suck like GI Joe, Super Mario Bros, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter the Movie and the 2009 Street Fighter, House of the dead. Usually Comic movies like Spider Man, Batman, or Watchmen turned out really great.. A Castlevania movie needs to be simple, Simon Belmont or any of the Belmont family, a Castle, the whip, Dracula, and the plot needs to be similar to the SNES or NES games. Thats a Castlevania movie to me.

  • Final Fantasy VII - Advent Child wasn't a bad movie o.o'

  • Not the one based on FF VII -_- im talking about the one with real human actors and actress. I heard that was awful.

  • yup thats tru :) the reallife one sucked ass.

  • True Belmonts use leather vests that would b mocked by the people in general... I find it cool however, and hope Castlevania remains as something that only gamers know.

  • @ClipCoug

    MORTAL KOMBAT

    hahaha

  • @KreatorOfDeath1985 ROTFLMFAO

  • @ClipCoug BUT, there is a TON of dracula movies that are great.

  • @ClipCoug mortal kombat movie is a classic example

  • @ClipCoug Yes I agree with you, look at the 2nd Mortal Kombat movies. Total piece of crap. 1st one wasnt bad.

  • @ClipCoug Not if done right. They never are, but many have very good potential to be great movies

  • @ClipCoug What if it was an animated movie?

  • @ClipCoug I second no castlevania movie, although I vote for Contra Movie featuring Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Scnrwarzenneggar as the two commandos killing the aline hordes. Or Arnold in Duke Nukem. Would be fucking epic...I wish...If I was rich Id pay millions to make all that happen.

  • @virtuamanswers plus another prob with contra. ARNOLDS A GOVERNER RIGHT NOW. chances are he wont be in another action movie.

  • @supersmashbro596

His term is over and done for in like 2 months. I'm sure he'll be back to action in no time. He better be or I'll be killing people.

  • @ClipCoug maybe if its animated and in 2d it would not suck...on second thought fuck that!no movie!

  • @ClipCoug Indeed, and so does games based of movies.

  • @DarenSankari

    Also true.

  • @ClipCoug

    So true.

  • @ClipCoug

While most game movies suck more than a hungry Kirby, when a game movie actually works, it turns into a real gem. Castlevainia could turn into an awesome movie one day. If it doesn't fallow the storyline of the games, but the movie is extraordinarily good I'd go see it.

  • @MissingnoTheGreat But if the movie doesn't follow the storyline of one of the games or is very simmilar it'll be just like Dragonball: Evolution, where they tapped on the title like a post-it note without respecting many aspects of what fans of the series will be looking for.

  • @MissingnoTheGreat the nearest thing is van helsing, it could be considered castlevania movie lol

  • @DarknessEnabled If I could star as Simon - I look almost exactly like him from Castlevania II Simon's quest. :P Well, if I shaved my face. My hair is long and poofy enough for it.

  • @ClipCoug unless silent hill :P

  • @ClipCoug except silent hill...

  • @DarknessEnabled Whaaaaaat? Silent Hill movie was aweful! :P

  • Is this the Library stage? I can't remember.

This game kicked ass and had so many great tunes.

  • It is the Library stage and do not forget the possessed books and evil ghosts trying to kill you.

  • Oh yea, and the creepy old ladies in the portraits that grabbed you.

  • If and when they ever make a Castlevania movie, they gotta hire the guy that created this game's music to do the soundtrack.

  • Just totally fixed my day, thanks!

    Such a great soundtrack!

  • Beatiful tune....I would zone out for hours just listening to this.

I even taped it to cassette way back in the day!

    Thanks for posting 5 stars

  • The big library with the coolest song!!!

    5/5 ^_^

    thanks for the upload!

  • this was one of the greatest songs in the game, I explored in real life to this music on a tape casset walkman.

  • hahahahaha craziest thing i've heard, awesome

  • Pretty good song.

  • Hey I love this song And this board is fun when you play cause i like surprises.^^ makes me jump with excitement.one of my favorite songs off this game and i still play it to.^^

  • LOL i remember this. this what made start reading books. LOLLLLLLLL

  • "Holyshit, I just want to read a book, leave me alone"! But seriously, this had to be the most active library I've ever been in, between the armored knights, the rapid zombie dogs, the lady in the picture grabbing your ass, the flying gargoyle with the jar, the blood skeletons and those little ghost thingies popping up in the damndest places, you could of had four arms and this stage still would have been confusing and they tried to play it off with this studious music...LMAO.

  • reminds me of my childhood sanctuary playing this game as a young boy. :' )

  • YEP

  • Absolutly!

  • If some of you remember Secret of Mana on SNES,this was the only game could compete ("soundwise") with castlevania by that time. Both games had musical stampede soundtracks of the finest.Good Job

  • You cant leave out Final Fantasy 2.

  • Ofcourse FF had GREAT MUSIC TOO!!

  • ow, man this take back

  • every time i go the library this song plays in my head lol

  • Haha I thought I were the only one

  • like reading rainbow??

  • such an eerily haunting tune, relaxing yet mysterious.

oh man this is one of my favorite songs from the game.

    Thanks for posting!

  • I can almost play this on Bass guitar.

  • This is my favorite place. I felt so relaxed with the library setting and this music.

  • I remember the damn thing under the rug that ran at you-that freaked me out. That and the living pictures that grabbed you. Epic game FTW.

  • they should make a castlevania for the wii!!!

  • Castlevania Judgment.

  • oh lol i did not know that

  • the library was fun

  • Fuck the library that and the torture chamber drove me nuts, lol. But it was some of the best music in the game

  • This song sounds sad and eerie all at the same time

  • sad? o_O

    calm

  • An amazing song, I used to hear this song while meditating. KONAMI, please make a remake of this game, please please please

  • Yes I agree that would be awesome but for now Roms will do just fine.

  • yes,please please

  • that would suck,just like tmnt-re-shelled!

  • It's weird but this song reminds me of Sim City on snes.
