@Hittman305 hell yeah. start em off on the old school classics, not the ultra violent garbage first person shooters, GTA clones or open ended rpgs which seems to be 95% of what the game industry produces now.
silent hill had great actors and artists behind the camera. it is one of the best horror films ever made, in spite the first half is certainly boring.
@Caristo09 oh and just to add i love how they go from this calm library level/music right into the floor breaking apart and falling into the hell dungeon that is stage 8 ;)
@NewAgeRetroGamer If CV4 can't be memorable, then SotN should be forgotten too. At least CV4 was intended to be a remake, unlike SotN who had to reuse plots and characters from Dracula X.
@Hitmonchan107 I am not saying that CV4 can't be memorable overall.
I said that the songs aren't memorable, but atmospheric. Simple as that. For example, it's easy find people that know Vampire Killer by heart, but it's difficult to find someone that know this one by memory.
@NewAgeRetroGamer maybe alot of them dont get "stuck in your head" so to say.... but they aren't forgotten also, i had instant recognition and nostalgia from this song ;p
Ahh... My favorite stage in the game, soo calm, calming music, scary basement with creepy pictures from the 16th century... The music gives a strange feeling in the atmosphere that gives the thought as if the books hadn't been touched in centuries.
them fucking flying books al ways got me...at the end i alwayz pressed down while standing on the stairs,to fall down quick.2 get that shit overwith...love the game
Nothing beats Super Castlevania IV's music. Honestly, it's the most beautiful score you could ever listen to. Especially this one with it's relaxing yet deadly feeling. Thank you for reminding me of such memorable melodies I experienced during my childhood and the Snes. Thank you.
When it comes to video game music, I don't care how grainy it sounds, how muddy, how bad the quality is, in fact, sometimes it makes the song all the more enjoyable, like Harmony of Dissonance's music, sure, the quality was pretty bad for a GBA game, but it had an older feeling, and the music itself was amazing, I'd pick the original stuff over any remix, honestly, it just never gives you the same feeling.
@Chal0099 Are you sure you don't mean the GBA? The DS is capable of much better sound, although the actual speakers on the unit suck. However, if you listen with headphones on you can hear how truly great it sounds.
its weird, i love the whole soundtrack but no matter how nice the music is i still get goosebumps and im creeped out because i used to watch my dad play this game when i was a kid. great parenting there. awesome nightmares all my childhood LOL
Just about every video game movie had the chance to be sick as hell. Usually, the people behind the creation of the games don't work on the movies at all, which tends to lead to their downfall. Like, if Shigeru Miyamoto was the director of the Mario movie, it would have been the shit.
I agree. But a lot of video games/ Tv Shows turned into movies suck like GI Joe, Super Mario Bros, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter the Movie and the 2009 Street Fighter, House of the dead. Usually Comic movies like Spider Man, Batman, or Watchmen turned out really great.. A Castlevania movie needs to be simple, Simon Belmont or any of the Belmont family, a Castle, the whip, Dracula, and the plot needs to be similar to the SNES or NES games. Thats a Castlevania movie to me.
True Belmonts use leather vests that would b mocked by the people in general... I find it cool however, and hope Castlevania remains as something that only gamers know.
@ClipCoug I second no castlevania movie, although I vote for Contra Movie featuring Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Scnrwarzenneggar as the two commandos killing the aline hordes. Or Arnold in Duke Nukem. Would be fucking epic...I wish...If I was rich Id pay millions to make all that happen.
