I think it's important to explain this allegory, though we all probably know it I'm sure some do not. We are Edmund! Satan is the witch. He demands death for you by God's own law. God is Aslan. That's why Christ died your death, that even though you betrayed him, you could live. Aslan's death is Christ's sacrifice for you, even though you went against Him, He loves you so much that he didn't want you to pay the price we all owe to Satan...............Now bring on the hateful comments. I'm ready.
@tjf5183 It's not "Satan's price" Jesus died to pay but God's... it's because we've all sinned and fallen short of God's glory (who is sinless) that we cannot be with God unless we accept Jesus as our Lord!
@tjf5183 I'm not going to say anything hateful I'm just going to sort of criticize if that's what you think the books are about then ok so be it. But I'm sorry you just said Aslan was Christ and Jesus and also God 3 different people. Don't make everything about religion enjoy the video as it is it's simple don't make it difficult by turning it into a religious lesson everything doesn't revolve around religion. And Aslan sacrificed himself for Edmund not for the people not for the world fo Edmund
@tjf5183 He didn't sacrifice himself for the everlasting human race and all it's sins he sacrificed himself so that Edmund would have to die and he knew that he would come back because he did it for a good cause. Don't try to judge the movie or the books but just saying: Oh this is about how Jesus sacrificed himself for the Human race. No it's not---and a little off topic do you even know who Jesus is? Did he exist? Find a real bible (which is impossible) and read it not that altered stuff

@Snowpum18 You may be right that Aslan didn't for the human race but C.S. Lewis was a Christian and his stories could have contained Christian symbolism in them. This certainly seems to symbolize Jesus- the humiliation, the death, the resurrection- it makes sense. I mean just because someone is suggesting something remotely related to Christianity does not give you the right to jump on them and be such an ass. What "altered stuff" are you referring to exactly? And Jesus did exist.
TheJonititan it's the soundtrack for the short 7-minute battle scene, the soundtrack for that scene used to be on youtube, cannot find it anywhere on youtube now
I remember this scene bothered me so much when I was a little kid (didn't understand the significance of it). That witch's voice use to scare me to death.
It's interesting to watch all the different adaptations of this book and see how they compare artistically. Even in different mediums there are a lot of similarities in actors, layouts, shots, music etc which just goes to show how vividly Lewis told his story.
Did anyone even see every evil persons face after she killed him? They were all like HEEEEEEAHHAHAHAHAHAHA it was really funny but this version is cool i love how bad ass the lion is he's like so awesome!
I suppose those who awarded it an Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program back in 1979 were equally retarded then. Yes, the Emmy Award which is the TV equivalent of the Academy Oscar awards for movies.
1. This was meant for kids. 2. It was made in a time animation experienced an all time low. Disney had no hits at this time.
I will never KNOW how the hell you passed your English class.
@McLarenMercedes Gee that's too bad it says 'flag' beside the word dislike, just waking up I thought it said something else and I was going to click it.
Yes, it's for kids. If you don't like it, don't watch it. What does someone have a loaded double barrel to your head forcing you to watch things you think are crap or are you just too stupid and lazy to click a button when you're on a post you don't like. Also, I'm sure I could find a disney classic for 79 if I looked.
OMG! I remember this part when I was little, I think it tramatized me. I don't like that they did this to the lion. It seem degrading. But then he rises.
I used to love watching this movie on the Disney Channel when I was a kid. This story has so much Christian influences in it. Aslan sacrificing himself for Edmund's faults is exactly like Christ dying for the sins of Man. Also, Susan and Lucy are like the two Marys who were at Christs Cruxifiction crying.
Wow! The whole scene where the witch gives her speech and then finally kills Aslan was amazing! The part where she screams "Forever!!" and it echoes and shows the entire country was pure genius! I wonder why she didnt just attack all of the good people while they slept and were vulnerable? Maybe she was more noble and fair than people gave her credit for..
Could this be animated any worse

The midget creature that shaves Aslan is an "orkin". A little nudge C.S Lewis included in the novel for his buddy J.R.R Tolkien.
