Every person will have there own opinion but i beleve that most people that support red devils jags convicts dovis ect. say there th strongest becasue its the fish that they have, now ehn u have experiance with fish an have had alot an no wat your talking about u start to brake off the fish in groops for example the groop i would thrw a dovii in would bee with N. haitiensis, Nandopsis beani, Caquetaia Umbriferus. having experince with all of them i found Nandopsis beani to be most aggresive.

Oscars are on the bottom of the food chain in the Cichlid owner ask any well educated cichlid enthusiast and they will tell you the same. Just cuz oscars eat live food doesnt make them killers....Though Osars are pretty and intelligent fish they just can match up to any of the ones in my tank as well as a few other meaner cichlidsd......

@SomeThingGoneWrong1 Well if your talking about oscars that way you have never had them.....All cichlids have different personallities one of my oscars used to be half as small as the other one and would chase him around I put him in with my 9 in. pacus when he was only 2 in. and he chased them around.... I know pacus aren't that aggressive your thinking but I tried to put other cichlids that were getting picked on in there and they got almost eaten alive if I had't got the net Pacus chase them

I guess you haven't looked up pike cichlids on google. Its says they are really aggressive and great hunters. It also said there aggression can be reduced if the owner knows exactly how to take care of them. Your oscars could be pussys some are. But ussually they get really aggressive when full grown. How big were they?

@SomeThingGoneWrong1 I tried to put my 4 in. red devil in with my 9 in. pacus and he got his lips bitten of his dorsal fin chewed and his coudle fin chewed almost to his tail he is doing fine now and his lips have almost grown back but......my 2 in. oscar was chasing them around. Come on now, all cichlids have different personalities. I also tried to put a 3 in. jack dempsey, a 3 green terror, and an other 3 in. jack dempsey oh ya don't forget a 4 in. red devil.

you must have had a pussy fish of an RD if your telling the truth but first off a fishes lips cant grow back... i used to have a red terror that took the lips of a jaguar cichlid and the lips never grew back infact it lived 2 more months before i decided to give it away because it wouldn't move from the front right corner of the tank and she was helpless because all the other fish would just beat on her and i doubt it still alive.

Actually it is still alive and its doing pretty well I got rid of the pacus and now it is in there tank with a firemouth, red oscar, and to dinosaur bichers. Its about 5 in. so is the red oscar and the firemouth is about 4 in. Both bichers are 5 in. and they all get along really well in that tank. I still have the oscar that chased the pacus he is in a different tank with another oscar that is the same size it 6 in. I have a jack dempsey in there 4 in. and a male convict cichlid 3.5 in .
