The SRW series is a good test of your anime worthiness. If you don't recognize just one mecha or character then you are still green novice and should go back and 'study' to compensate for your sad lack of knowledge of anime.
@teoteous For me it often goes the other way around as I learn a great deal from SRW events and side research I due because a series appears. SRW has the tendency to include stuff that practically noone has ever heard of, I mean how many American fans REALLY knew a damn thing about GodSigma before it was put on Z's roster? How about Detonator Orgun? Heck most Japanese fans had never heard of Golion as big as it was in America or Zeorymer at all. Even peripheral stuff like Orguss gets a SRW Bump.
@Omnicrom It´s been the same for me. I´ve come to know about stuff like Iczer - 1 or Zeorymer because it appeared in a certain SRW game, piqued my curiosity, and I ended up watching the whole series :3
From 3:50-4:50, I was in total "I can't close my mouth cause I'm in awe" mode.
This..was...fuckin...awesome...no words can describe it. And it changed my mind about SRW Z too. It looks so clear, so beautiful. But I don't got a japanese ps2 and I can't mod for crap, so I'm out of luck.
Don't get peoples hopes up, Gurren Lagann has still not been confirmed for SRW as of the time of this writing. Also consider that Konami as owner has the licensing rights for TTGL in a vice grip. Banpresto probably wants the rights, and they may get it, but how long it'll take is up for debate.
true that, konami allowed banpresto to use their characters like ZOTE and Gurren Lagann and many others, is would be a more mixed up game. However, I think it all depends of fanbased results. a bit like how MVC2 ended up on 360 and PS3.
How does MVC2 ending up on PS3 and 360 related to SRW?
Capcom had already made 2D fighters for Marvel in X-Men: Children of the Atom and Marvel Super heroes, it really wasn't a large step to go to X-Men (and then Marvel) vs. SF and then Marvel vs. Capcom.
Banpresto is a subdivision of Bandai/Namco which are rivals in the same field as Konami. Marvel contracted out partnership to another field, Bandai/Namco and Konami are market competitors in the same field, the situations aren't that alike.
Another thing to look at is how long it would take to actually get them in a game. Even if they get the rights, it'll still take quite a while.
Look how long it took to get shows like Eureka 7 and Overman, and even Zoids into the series. Now consider how long those shows have been out prior to the games.
As far as ZoE is concerned, the only video game robots I've seen there (that I know of) are the ones from Virtual-ON, I'd leave that at possible, but not probable.
Anime usually don't end up in SRW games for a year or two after release, It isn't a rule set in stone but after a Mecha is complete you likely won't see for at least 2 years.
Zoids took so long as it was in the same boat, it was owned by Bandai's rival Takara-tomy. Virtual-ON was owned by SEGA, and it was apparently given as SEGA wasn't doing much with the license.
In general new showings of old series come either from pre-nintendo anime or stuff picked up from legal fights.
Masaki Endo in the house!!!!
