Spider-Man 2 would've been perfect with Danny Elfman and the web shooters. I was a little sad when I found out that Spider-Man actually made his web, and was like "Why didn't they do that in the movie?!"
I bought a copy of the score back when it was released and I was so annoyed at both how amazing this entire cue was and why it wasn't anywhere in the movie. It confused me and one day I sort of played it with this scene and was like "WHOA, it goes with it perfectly!"
I'll never understand why Raimi took cues like these out of the film. Some of his decisions were understandable, but taking THIS out just... yea, I just don't get it.
@mkkumbia lol, Eflman decided to put some emphasis on the weight of the situation there.... BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM, BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM, BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM, BUUUUUM BUUUUUM!!!!!!
@JustTheScore Spiderman 2 is a great movie though I think the have should cut a little of conversations and replcaed it with action. Elfman's soundtracks could have improved the film much more than the updated version!
@jayce79 apparently, Sam Raimi asked Danny Elfman to rescore several scenes, because he wasn't entirely satisfied. He asked Elfman to make it sound more like Christopher Young's score to "Hellraiser." Danny Elfman said he wouldn't rescore it, and advised Raimi to just hire Christopher Young. So, Elfman quit, and Raimi hired Christopher Young to replace some of Elfman's scores, and to continue scoring where Elfman had left off. The entire 3rd film was scored by Young and his crew. Sad...
For the life of me I cannot see Rami saying that too Elfman. I did not know that Young scored some of Spidey 2 as well? I do also like Young. I would much rather see him do a completely original score and Theme for Spidey , in a new set of movies , than a band-aid for Rami and these movies.
@jayce79 yeah, Young took Elfman's place halfway through Spider-Man 2. It's not that Young's music is bad, its just not as fitting as Elfman's score for spidey-action, imho. Super-hero fight music needs a lot of synch points, where the music accents a lot of individual actions, like Elfman did in his score. Youngs score was more like "generic action" and wasn't as exciting. I'll probably upload a video with Young's music to this scene. Stay tuned.
@Riddler95 well, you know wikipedia isn't a reliable source. It could be the fact that Elfman's name is in the credits for the themes, so someone was confused and assumed there was a collaboration. I don't know, though. But if that's the only source that claims of the collaboration, then I wouldn't trust it.
I kinda prefer the christopher young one. This is just recycled from sm1

No kidding. Elfman is the man. Even back when he had his band: The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo. Or just Oingo Boingo for short.
Remember the music from Nightmare on Elm Street? That was killer.

@pcgamerz2010 yes, good ear. It's a familiar action theme, with accents on new things.

No wonder Danny Elfman said that working on Spider-Man 2 was a miserable experience.
From what I heard Elfman had begun collaborating with Christopher Young on Spider-Man 3, it says that on Wikipedia.
I really like the music composed by both composers for this scene.
