Never saw this parody before; it's uncanny how Jennifer Saunders has the ability to pick up another person's mannerisms and just 'become' her, only totally hilarious. And Dawn French has such wonderful comic timing. They play it straight, and it's so funny I LOL.

I'm a bit ABBA fan, but wow - this is up there with all the best song parodies, like Billy Connolly's DIVORCE and Mitch Benn's entire catalogue - they got the sound just right. This is hillarious. I like how this spoof incorporates more than one abba song / video. The verses of the song sound like the winner takes it all, whilst the chorus sounds like knowing me, knowing you. The sketch itself looks like a spoof of the knowing me, knowing you video whilst the various different camera shots are spoofing the videos for mamma mia, take a chance on me and SOS. I reckon Benny, Bjorn and Frida would find this funny is they saw it.

Never saw this parody before; it's uncanny how Jennifer Saunders has the ability to pick up another person's mannerisms and just 'become' her, only totally hilarious. And Dawn French has such wonderful comic timing. They play it straight, and it's so funny I LOL.
The joke, btw (for anyone who missed it), is in how accurately they got the look and sound of ABBA, but just enough off to be ridiculous. I love these two, and the horse they rode in on.

I'm amazed how much they got it to look and sound like The Winner Takes It All. The background music is about the same, but the notes as sung are very different....it'd be cool if this were an actual song.

I'm a bit ABBA fan, but wow - this is up there with all the best song parodies, like Billy Connolly's DIVORCE and Mitch Benn's entire catalogue - they got the sound just right. The song is basically doing "The Winner Takes It All", with a bit of "Knowing Me Knowing You" thrown in for good measure, and works perfectly.

This is hillarious. I like how this spoof incorporates more than one abba song / video. The verses of the song sound like the winner takes it all, whilst the chorus sounds like knowing me, knowing you. The sketch itself looks like a spoof of the knowing me, knowing you video whilst the various different camera shots are spoofing the videos for mamma mia, take a chance on me and SOS. I reckon Benny, Bjorn and Frida would find this funny is they saw it.
