  • ladies and gentlemen. jacquebrunton who has just posted up a smiley face comment is the Elphaba from this video :-) so all your good wishes and praise will be noticed now. Well done Jackie! You better get your socks on and get yourself to the next round of London auditions!

  • oh. my. god! fantastic!!!

  • how did they make her fly? please answer!

  • Ho-ly. shit! Amazing! well done guys.

  • Pffft using the originals as a stick to measure them. Please. It doens't take much to match Idina. If you could sing like Teal or Rachel THEN i would be impressed. This is a school production this is awesome! Well done girls. Most schools are so traditional and just put on Alice in Wonderland and boring shit like that cuz not many school students have voices for Wicked.

  • the baby... -_-

  • this was really good and the only thing wroung was the lift i imagine they had a problem with the lift

  • Having seen Wicked 3 times I can say (in my opinion) this comes the closest to the real thing. Ms. Brunton, London west-end awaitsyou!

    !

  • @queeveen :D :D :D xx

  • I love how when she asked, "Are you coming?" The kid said "No!"

  • What's the thing in the background supposed tovbe?!

  • GROWTH SPURT!! Her longs grow quick O.O

  • Wow, it was 30 seconds between Elphaba leaving and her defying gravity.

  • how did they make the lift :O

  • you really sound like Idina Menzel..great job

  • UH OH, someone turned the backstage scenery into a massive cock... :P

  • Elphaba didn't say 'She's got nothing to do with it. I'm the one you want. It's meeee!" That was my favorite line. But otherwise! Truly astonishing coming from highschool aged kids!

  • :) wow alot of views ... really cool! glad to see people still like it :)

  • wow. that is the only way i can describe this video

  • Way to go... this is awesome, especially for their ages, they sound great. so professionally well done.

  • I like this perfromance, its really good for their ages. i wish we could perform shows like this at our school. you are so lucky.

  • Incredible. Really impressive. I even got goosebumps at the end. Was really good.

  • Incredible. Really impressive. I even got goosebumps at the end.

  • You two have wonderful voices! And Elphaba, you can SAAAANG!!!

  • They did a great god almost as good as the real one! Eplie did a great job!!! =)

  • great elphie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it is SSOOOOO distracting to be on stage and hear coughs, talking, etc. it completely throws you :|

  • wow !! super awesom amazing ! I love it <3

  • it's called a babysitter!!! GET ONE!

  • Abort Abort Abort!!!!!! :(((((

  • damn they are good

  • omg this is so good bravo bravo to you girls

  • GAVE ME GOOSEBUMPS!

  • the grown ups were talking and letting there kids scream thts so rude

  • holy shit... that was legit!!!! way to blow my mind ladies!

  • oh my dear god.... this is astonishing. these girls have voices that rival the professional performance i saw just a couple days ago and to have that quality and potency at 17 especially is simply mindblowing.. futures in theater are far and in between but this jackie girl is amazing in this. the last oh-ooh-oh was a little off but still, this video's singing at least rivals the performance i saw... :)

  • Wow! Amazing work girls!!!

  • damn these kids kicked some ass :)

  • @jacob95124 What if it's a little brother or sister of one of the cast members?

Great performance, the Elphaba reminds me a little bit of Eden Espinosa (more than any of the actresses that have played the role in London, anyway)

  • Oh my god. This is amazing. Both of the girls are SO talented.

  • these girls are absolutely amazing

  • Watched this yesterday with my school:P Was wickeddd x]

  • that baby is pissing me off. but fantastic performance :D

  • I wish someone would shut that fucking baby up

  • Wow! This is really impressive! Love the flying effect :D

  • I just want to say that these girls are really good! I think they did an amazing job and every person that performs any scene is gonna be different, that's what makes theater so awesome. The fact that you will never see the same thing due to the personalities of the performers.

  • Everyone should stop having a go at this performance? Who cares if the waiting time for the end bit was long? It's not like a stage school has the budget to use the lift facilities that Broadway can use! Give them a break! And these performers are still very young. Their voices will mature and grow over time so you can't expect somebody of this age to be as good as an experienced Broadway actress yet. I think for what it was, it was pretty damn good.

  • i didnt like the part just before elphaba flies. glinda returns to her blonde bubbliness and keeps screaming i dont know! she shouldve stuck to the original "WHAT? LET GO! LET GO OF ME DO YOU HEAR?" and then Elphaba shouldve said "she's not the one you want. its me. its meeee" they shouldve done that but otherwise okay.

  • The thing in the background looks like Shrek's house!!!

  • Great voices!

  • She wasn't really that flat in the end. It was mostly a combination of vibrado and running out of breath while belting that made it sound like that. Awesome voices. Needed more physical expression.

  • 17? she has one heel of a voice! i wish i could sing like that! she did amazing!

  • The girl who played Elphaba actually did a good job! Props to her! And good job on recreating the defying gravity effect. Only thing that annoyed me was when they were arresting Glinda and the gards said "where is the wicked witch?" those arent the lines. They actually think Galinda is the Witch. And they ttly forgot Elphie's line where she says "She's not the one u want it's me!" I was expecting that line but it didnt come.

  • @dufflover37 ikr thats anoying

  • Have to say, that is just bloomin' fantastic!!!!! Really! Both Galinda and Elphaba are fab but Elphie is totally pro - which stage school is this?????

  • they're both fantastic! 5*s

The girl playing Elphie has a wonderful voice; she does really well on the ranged notes

  • the girls are just superb!! that voice is gifted!!! but really, the baby part is pretty annoying...but no doubt, this video's so broadway!!XD

  • bayibs!

  • OMG they are amazing :D:D:D:D

  • This hasn't been approved for use in commercial performances yet?

  • If you read the description, you will see they did not perform the entire show just some scenes for the finale of the stage school end of year showcase

  • @EvasiveLeAnn @rayohare It's perfectly legal to perform as long as you don't sing more than three songs, and if it was just some scenes for the end of a showcase, then they probably didn't anyway :)

  • @rayohare You still need a license to perform it in public.

  • depeneds which country you live in.

  • @rayohare you still need a license to perform it - which would most likely not be granted

  • @rayohare good lad ray :)

  • if Show Choir's do it, it must be.

  • @EvasiveLeAnn god get you youtube police !! if you havent noticed thousands of people have done this and posted the videos publically, and i dont see the policing comments there, all we know is that these girls did a fantastic job with the musical number, and all you seem to notice is the legalies ! who cares !!!

  • @EvasiveLeAnn u just got served!

  • <3<3<3

  • you guys have amazing voices. good job!

  • Realy amasing.

  • Very nice vocals =]

  • wow!

  • Wow...impressive...just saw the show tonight..and that was impressive for a girl of 17 years old at the time..

  • YES!

  • Its not as good as the west end one. But these girls are so good at singing :)

  • HOLY CRAP. That was AMAZING. Like legit. If you guys don't get on broadway then idk what.

  • amazing!!

  • I AGREE WITH 1musicalnote FOR THEIR AGE IT WAS REALLY GOOD WEN I FIRST SAW THIS I THOUGHT IT WAS ONE OF THE ACTUALL BROADWAY PERFORMANCCE!!HAHAH!!:)

  • good :) they were flat in a few spots and Elphaba wasn't with the instrumental part at the end, but as far as vocals go, it was nice :)))

  • @ShortLesMisfan its with a backing track , thats so hard , if you mess up your screwed! :)

  • This was great for their ages!!

  • great job

  • They were very good :) I approve very much :)

  • i wonder if they had a similar machine to the one used in the offical plays. this was awesome!!

  • when she starts to flyis gives me chills!! :)

  • go on jackie!!!

  • Glinda was magnificent!! I truly admire her! Elphaba was sooo professional!

  • wonderful...

  • haha I was joking... me and Jaq are good mates... and yes she's amazing, I was just stirring stuff up :P

  • That was the best amature production i've seen so far.

  • and alphy is wuite outa time with the music at quite q few points in the song

  • that glinda should do more then stand there with her hands on her hips

  • Is that a screaming baby in the audience?!

  • I THOUGHT ELPHABA WAS TERRIFIC!!!!!! yes she got the last note wrong.. BUT HER VOICE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL AND STRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • it was awesome but i do agree the last note for elphaba was rong but the rest was great

  • amazing just amazing... one thing for you careytaz have you ever tried to belt your lungs out when your strapped to a lift??? if not than just shoosh that girl did amazing and for a highschool production im simply astounded. major applause guys

  • I'm a good friend of Jaq's, we've sung together a few times.... Don't worry I know she's great, I was just joking!

  • I'd Jimmy Choo that baby over the fucking head.

  • THIS ELPHABA IS AMAZING. Especially for only being about my age. Well Done.

  • Shut those damn kids up! Any responsible parent knows that you don't take kids to a live performance! It isn't fair to the patrons who pay for seeing their teens perform! Yes, for a troop of teens to be doing a number as difficult as this is simply fantastic! Take it from a guy that sees live Broadway all the time. Good luck to you all!!!!

  • I really like how she sings "deserves the chance to.." at 4:44

  • This was extremely impressive, especially it being a high school production. I really felt it at the end, and I think the scene was created well at the end. Of course, the set in the beginning had me questioning a bit, but it's fine. Cause sets doesn't exactly mean a performance is bad or good. The vocals were fantastic, with just a few things that could be tweaked. I think it was pulled off pretty well.

  • This was a school show? Did you guys build that lift for Elphaba's flight? For a school, that lift is impressive.

  • You can't do Wicked because it's on broadway. This was probably for a talent show. Right? Elphie rocks! The girl who plays Galinda is a failboat.

  • I think that people should try if they want to, if people didnt attempt things like this noone would get anywhere, I think they did well for a school production. Its easy to be a critic, but you should try doing something like that.

  • Yeah, i guess i was a little harsh..you only have a certain budget for a school production. I guess it's just fresh from seeing in in the West End i expected a lot, but it's a good effort so well done for trying..x

  • Its a school show lol not the actual show

  • Truly Wonderful...

  • the girl who played Elphie sounds so great

  • that thing looks like something very nasty

  • yh i did for my art trip with another 20 kids and 3 teachers and me and 5 m8s saw it and we luved it!

  • at my school right now im elphaba and i have 2 sing like that....hard work! AWESOME ELPHABA!

  • OH cool i wish we were duin that insted were duin sweeny todd still good tho go luck elphaba LOL

  • great Elphie

  • @chesseyjo123 BHAHHAHA! agreed.

  • What is that green thing?

  • why is there a squash.

  • I´m so jelous of the two of them!

    Their voices are great!!!

I wish I could sing like that!

  • BreathTaking!!!

  • amazing voice...

  • Elphaba , is great!!!

  • very good. but i have a few comments about some of the negative comments on here. In the musical, the flying scene looks the same as on here. look it up, Idina has a cloth hanging down as well. And the last note she sang was alittle off but again, listen to the broadway version or the cd version, Idina does it the same way. VERY GOOD REPLICA LADIES.

  • She sounds AWESOME!!! It's just the last note!! What was she trying to do? LMAO..It didn't work, she should have done it the regular way, I know she could have, because she has SOME LUNG POWER!! LORD!! But STILL OVERALL 10 STARS!!

  • one word: AMAZING

    :)

  • ii dont get what you mean by that?

could you explain what you mean if you dont mind.

  • girls got some lungs.. i'm not even gonna lie..

  • Very good guys! I love the flying part but it did need some work, but heck it was so cool I had chills! Loved it!

  • goosebumps. i'd say the only mistake ws the flying scene, it looked like the cloth was draped around her neck. they had really really great voices! best high school performance of wicked so far!

  • Ok, when Elphaba is flying, she is supposed to look like she's flying...Not look really tall..

The black fabric thing is supposed to be behind her. You can easily do that by standing on a small platform which you can't see...........

In this version it looks like she in at a hairdresser.....

  • OMG these are kids thats amazing. Elfiba has a fantasic voice and the expecially at the end.

  • I love your voices! The acting of Glinda could be a little better, but of course that's a bit hard to see on a small video!

  • she sounds like Idina menzel

  • this is really good, the vocals are amazing, only a couple of criticisms, that is the random thing behind the girls?, there is too much of a silence between elphaba running off and the guards coming on as the guards are supposed to make elphaba run away and why is she so wide when she is flying>?

  • what the hell is that behind them? a squash?? O_o

  • no you dont want to know whats behind them lol!

  • lol. i really dont wanna know...

  • wow.. for a school play that was amazing.. you're both fantastic singers !:D

  • I agree. Was good, but it's supposed to be a really dramatic sceen. But the girls did good esp the one playing elphaba.

  • elphaba was great. Awesome voice! However, this song could have been WAY more dramatic with a little better timing in both the acting and singing. Especially at the end.

  • WOW... i have chills

  • Ive seen other videos on youtube of this girl jacqueline B she is fabulous, she sings 'The Prayer' its so good! have to agree Definetly the best amatuer elphaba i have ever seen!

  • prolly the best elphaba amateur on youtube! the rest really cant sing the end. great job!

  • Great voices!!!!

  • vocals = great

lighting/set= great ... but id liek to know how it all ties in and why they made these choices

    acting/blocking = need a LOT of work

  • Agreed. Acting in the middle was terrible. It was so obvious that they were just stalling for time, waiting until Elphaba could get into her lift. Pathetic.

  • @iAmNotAnAnus yesyouareananus

  • Completely agree.

    lol, i laughed :L

  • how did u do it getting her up in the air? did u use a harness? cuz it looks awesome!!

  • The girl playing Elphie is awesome.

Who brings a baby to a play for crying out loud!

  • well its a school play

  • Getting a babysitter is simple enough.

  • holy mother of all that is holy that is amazing! nice job :)

  • Good voices (I didnt mean the baby btw ^_^)

  • Both were great! Elphaba, you have great future if you are interested to go in musical theatre. Brava!!! Amazing vocal! Congratultations!

  • It's not. You are allowed to perform 3 or less songs as a concert performance. Only performing the entire show is illegal.

  • but how will it be i;;egal

  • it's all about copyright. you can't perform a show that is currently on stage professionally, they won't give you the score or the script.

  • As long as they're only doing a selection of songs for a concert-type ting and not a full version of the show, it's alright.
