whoS a bitch ?? ( yes .. they ARE .. they came to Berlin around nov´09 and feb´10 (not sure yet, we have so many cool concerts) .. very electrifyong to ALL ( and with this I mean dinosaurs + freshmates ) .. cool mood, but besides their "evergreens" a bit too soft and slow for my taste ) I am pretty sad that there was no industrial elaborated as a style itself and that those great bands like spk and test dept. vanished in graves or - like others -
That style was named because of "Industrial Records", a label founded by TG in the 70's. In addition to the pioneers many bands of the early 80's were "officially" labeled as industrial at the time, like SPK, Einsturzende Neubauten, Esplendor Geometrico, Whitehouse, Test Dept., etc... After this the style evolved in many sub-genres (EBM, Dark Ambient, Power Electronics, Industrial Rock, Rhythmic Noise, Neofolk ...) more or less closer to the original sound but likewise categorized as Industrial.
@baraquijal15 ... yes you are right, the fact that I called them "industrial" was wishful thinking (new release is announced). they are doing sound since decades without being softwashed by techno and were first called electric body music .. my bad :)
@fashionsucker Actually the band considers themselves to be "Hard Rhythmic electronics/electro-punk"... "INDUSTRIAL" wasn't invented till the late 80's..
@baraqijal15 Industrial music was invented in the late 70's by Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, Monte Cazazza, etc... Early Portion Control's albums were very close to this sound, listen to "I Staggered Mentally" or "Gaining Momentum", for example
