They don't necessarily stay outside, they like cavarnous areas, so basements, cellars, shoes. these are all great areas for a Redback to settle, you have to be so careful with your shoes if u live out in the country. But their venom is really their only fierce attribute, they're slow, not very agile at all, and no armour. So yeah, and you're right No one's died from Redback in over half a century
Been to sydney workin and came across a white back n didn't realise it was poisonous, while i was suppose t be workin i picked the spider up with my shades n put it on da back of the boss's son, not da best idea...ha ha. luckily he fell off n didn't bit or sting him. dangerous red backs only ever seen one n crushed it straight away.
This would be the biggest Red back spider I have ever seen it stretched out to 30mm long and look at the video it's body is so heavy it drags it around. Its hard to get a perspective, but it was big!
they are generally more harm full to children. my dads been bitten like 20 times

No one has died since about 1956 from a red back spider. They stay outside, and their web is easily recognisable, its rather messy.
